The Staunton Heat 6th Grade (U11) Boy's AAU Basketball team is looking young men to add to our established team for the up coming 2015/2016 season. Our team has a core group of players from the Staunton/Fishersville/Stuarts Draft area and we will be entering our 3rd season of tournament basketball this November. We currently have several spots open on our roster and we are looking to expand our Heat family.
About Us
We are supported by Staunton Augusta Basketball Association (SABA). Our team is coached by Jeremy Hartman, former Lee High Girl's Basketball Head Coach. Coach Hartman has years of experience as a basketball coach and former player and focuses his coaching on the overall development of each player. Our team has a strong support system through SABA and involvement from our parents to ensure we are well organized. Our program is basically broken up into 2 seasons. We set a roster and play from November to May, then we reset the roster with new commitments and play through July. As a team, we try to play as many tournaments as possible (14 this year) and we are well known and established from Broadway to Christiansburg and east to Richmond. We normally practice twice a week for 1.5 to 2 hours at one of the Staunton City schools. We are not a Staunton only team. We have players from Wilson, Draft, and Rockingham County affiliated with our team and would be interested in players from all of the surrounding county schools. Our system is not based on any local school programs. We base our system on being competitive and developing skills at our current AAU level.
Our core group of boys and parents work well together and are very inviting to new families.

If there is interest on our part, we will set up private work outs to determine if your child is the right fit for our team. This will be done through an overall skill evaluation completed by our staff and other outside evaluators not directly affiliated with our team. The environment we provide for our players is more important to us than winning. Parent support is expected.
