Millwood 61 St Maria Goretti 44

C.J Williams
scored 31 points to give Millwood a 61-44 win over St Maria Goretti during 1st round games of the Benedictine Capital City Classic. Williams was 13 of 15 from the free throw line while finishing 9 of 13 from the field.

Millwood led 39-21 at halftime but they went cold in the 3rd quarter scoring only five points while seeing their double-digit lead cut to nine heading into the 4th quarter.

While Williams was the only Bobcat in double figures, they received good performances from Aaron Cash (7 points, 7 rebounds, 6 blocks), Miles Gibson (5 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks) and Vilontae Evans (7 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists).

McDonough 54 Miller School 46

Miller School of Charlottesville lost to McDonough 54-46 despite a monster game from Dajour Dickens who finished with 14 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks.

McDonough led most of the game but led by only two points after three quarters of play. They outscored the Mavericks 18-12 in the final period to pull out the win. Noah Locke was one of three players in double figures scoring 16 points including four 3-pointers. Damian Chong-Qui had 15 points and Bruce Moore added 13 points.

Joining Dickens in double figures was Tyler Creamer who scored 10 points. Ron Alston had 4 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for Miller School.

Calvert Hall 78 McKinley Tech 75

Towson commit Justin Gorham dominated scoring 26 points while grabbing 10 rebounds to help Calvert Hall to a 78-75 win over McKinley Tech in the 50th annual Benedictine Capital City Classic. Gorham was one of five players who scored in double figures for Calvert Hall.

McKinley Tech shooting guard Rinardo Perry, a UMass-Lowell commit, finished with a game-high 30 points including 4 of 8 from long range.
 
Benedictine 88 Ferris 39

BCCC host Benedictine cruised to an easy 88-39 1st round win over Ferris. The Cadets led by 15 points after one quarter and by 26 at halftime.

All 13 Cadets scored at-least one basket led by Seneca Louis 12 points. Both Cutch Ellis and Gibson Jimerson added 11 points. Ellis also led Benedictine with nine rebounds. Jimerson nailed three treys as did Dominic Franko who finished with nine points.
 
Virginia schools did not fare too well on the second day of the 50th annual Benedictine Capital City Classic in Richmond.

Benedictine lost in overtime to Calvert Hall 63-57. The Cadets led by four heading into the 4th quarter but they could not hold the lead. In the overtime, the Cadets connected on only 2 of 11 shots while Calvert Hall made 7 of 8 free throws to secure the win. Cutch Ellis finished with 18 points and 20 rebounds for the Cadets while Aaron Fowlkes added 15 points. Justin Gorham led Calvert Hall with 16 points.

In the other BCCC semi-final game, Millwood lost to McDonough 56-42. The Bobcats missed all their 3-point attempts and finished the game shooting only 32% from the field. Azariah Sykes led Millwood with 10 points. Bruce Moore had 26 for McDonough.

Miller School fell short against St Maria Goretti losing 65-44. The Mavericks were led by 12 points from Tyler Creammer and 10 points from Chance Sheffey. The Mavericks scored only two points in the second quarter.
