The 8th annual Best of the 757 Football Combine provided athletes from the Hampton Roads area as well as prospects from as far away as Roanoke a chance to compete for the Best of the 757. The afternoon started with the performance tests and the top scores were announced at the end of the day.

The Virginia Beach Sportsplex surface proved to be too slippery for some participants and Several
players ran the 40-yard dash multiple times to improve their score. Four athletes tied for the top
mark. Kings Fork freshman Darran Butts, Cox junior Marcus Johnson, Norfolk Academy sophomore Victor Robinson and Bishop Sullivan junior Bobby Price all posted a best time of 4.60. Price (6-foot-3, 200) stood out with his long legs and skinny braids which made him seem faster than his hand timed score.

Price also won the broad jump making him a candidate for the Best of the 757 player award which goes to the participant with the highest combined overall score in all events.

The 5-10-5 test which measures a players agility was won by Green Run sophomore Lamonte Perry with an excellent score of 4.09 seconds.

Oscar Smith junior Savion Smith listed five positions on his registration and he seemed to be talented in several events. He posted the top score in the vertical with a jump of 35 inches.

St Christophers lineman Tazle Sumpter made the trip from Richmond and took home two awards. Sumpter won the power ball toss and the lineman challenge with a score of 43.85.
