Centreville used the ground game to great advantage and four consecutive possessions that started in (or almost in) the Westfield half of the field to come away with a comfortable 35-6 win and reach the Region D final next weekend. Two very questionable calls on passes, on for CV in the second quarter and one against WF in the third quarter, kept the game from possibly being a one score or tied game going into the fourth quarter. The two calls probably would not have affected the final outcome based on how the game was going, but it certainly took away some of the potential excitement.

WF received the ball first and punted. The short punt gave CV the ball on the CV 49 yard line, what would turn out to be the worst starting field position of the first four CV possessions. CV went the 51 yards behind eight Ragland runs for 46 yards (with a 5 yard facemask penalty thrown in) to take a 7-0 lead (Patterson XP) with 4:47 to go in the first quarter. WF went three and out again with another short punt giving CV the ball on the WF 31 yard line. CV's Ragland would then fumble on the WF 7 yard line and WF's Anderson recovered. WF's Jenks promptly fumbled just a few plays later on a low snap at the WF 20 yard line and CV's McCoy recovered the ball on the WF 12 yard line. Ragland then ran it in from 12 yards out and CV extended their lead to 14-0 (Patterson XP) with 9:29 remaining in the first half. WF's next possession was another three and out punt, this time to the WF 47 yard line to once again give CV excellent field position. On this drive the first questionable pass reception call occurred when Resto found McCoy down the middle. McCoy juggled the ball at the five yard line, took a step and appeared to juggle it at the three as he was diving with outstretched arms, then hit the ground and lost the ball as he slid into the end zone. The officials called it complete inside the one yard line. Ragland then score again from a yard out and CV was up 21-0 (Patterson XP) with 7:44 remaining in the half. WF then put together their best drive of the night, going 89 yards and scoring on a 5 yard Jenks to Morin pass to cut the lead to 21-6 (XP snap was bad and the kick never got off) with 31 seconds left in the half.

CV took the second half KO at their 31 yard line and after a few plays WF's Anderson stepped in front of a Resto pass near midfield and returned the ball to the CV 20 yard line. WF converted a 4th and inches just outside the CV 10 yard line to keep the drive alive, then reached inside the two on a Jenks run. After a run for no gain and an incomplete pass, WF faced 4th and goal from about the 1-1/2 yard line. Jenks got off a pass to the left side that was caught by Morin and he dove just over the goal line-but the referee called it down just inches short on another very questionable call and CV took over. CV ran behind Ragland to get some breathing room, then continued the drive behind Ragland until Resto found Delgado for a 29 yard passing TD and the CV lead reached 28-6 (Patterson XP) with 10:38 remaining in the game. WF's inability to move the ball on offense continued, and CV then put together a 65 yard drive assisted by a 41 yard Ragland run to the WF 24 yard line and capped by Ragland's third rushing TD from 9 yards out to make it 35-6 (Patterson XP) with 5:33 remaining in the game. After WF punted again, CV ran 2-3 plays then went to the victory formation to secure the win.
