Time for many teams to focus on making the big play or its home they shall be.

The playoffs are here and hopefully the action will be as exciting and unpredictable as the season has been for most. Our predictions you expect to be on point! Here are the games in the Coastal Plain Plus coverage area:

CLASS 3 REGION A
7 SOUTHAMPTON (6-3) at 2 YORK (9-1)
The Indians have a strong defensive front with plenty of size that makes many wonder why aren't they better? For this game they will have to slow Jordin Lennon and the Falcons rushing attack to be in the game. Unfortunately, the Falcons attack is too strong for Southampton in this one.
PREDICTION: York 36 Southampton 6

CLASS 2 REGION A
5 THOMAS JEFFERSON (6-3) at 4 AMELIA COUNTY (7-3)
These two met earlier in the season in which Amelia got the best of the Vikings and were riding high. The Raiders have lost 3 of their last 5 and must get their offense in gear in order to advance over TJ. Antonio Harris Jr will need a mistake free performance to get them rolling.
PREDICTION: Amelia County 14 Thomas Jefferson 12

6 POQUOSON (5-4) at 3 BRUNSWICK (5-2)
The Bulldogs are at their best when they can allow Troy Duncan time in the pocket to create big time plays. The Bull Islanders will need long possessions in order to keep Brunswick's offense from finding a rhythm.
PREDICTION: Brunswick 28 Poquoson 24

White2.jpeg
The Cavaliers will look to shut down Jayden Whites scrambling ability.

7 GREENSVILLE CO. (6-3) at 2 KING WILLIAM (8-1)

The Cavaliers played a tough schedule and they are ready. Greensville has quarterback Jayden White and running back Kendall Blue who will try to upset the top back and qb tandem led by Demond Claiborne and Jayveon Robinson for the Cavs. Too much power for the Eagles.
PREDICTION: King William 44 Greensville Co. 20

8 RANDOLPH-HENRY (5-4) at 1 NOTTOWAY (9-0)

Nottoway Cougars are once again title contenders and they will get to flex their muscles in their opening playoff contest. Randolph-Henry will be overwhelmed by the defensive might and speed by the Cougars. Tyler Banks should have a career day.
PREDICTION: Nottoway 54 Randolph-Henry 6

CLASS 1 REGION A
5 WEST POINT (6-3) at 4 NORTHAMPTON (8-2)
The Yellow Jackets have surprised many and have earned a home playoff game. They defeated the Pointers 26-20 in early October and you can expect a battle again. West Point's Kahlil Norris will need to jump start the Pointers offense in order to flip the script.
PREDICTION: West Point 24 Northampton 20

6 COLONIAL BEACH (5-4) at 3 KING & QUEEN CENTRAL (8-1)

Getting upsets in the playoffs is the specialty of the Drifters but the Royal Tigers are on a mission. Last time the two went to 3 overtimes with King & Queen coming out victorious. Malik Holmes and Kam Berry will have to be ready to score a lot in this one.
PREDICTION: King & Queen Central 48 Colonial Beach 32

7 NORTHUMBERLAND (6-2) at 2 WASHINGTON & LEE (5-3)
Northumberland has been struggling while the Eagles of Washington & Lee have really rallied together and are playing some of the best football they've done all season. Cameron Seldon will need to get several touches but the lack of competition is the henderring factor.
PREDICTION: Washington & Lee 28 Northumberland 14

Jones.jpeg
Coach Todd Jones will need to find away to get back to the state playoffs again.

8 RAPPAHANNOCK (4-5) at 1 ESSEX (5-1)

Beating a team twice can be tough but Essex will be focused on doing just that. Kamren Robinson will need to find seams and get the Trojans cruising last time the two met. Dorian Harris will need to get into open space to showcase his pull away speed.
PREDICTION: Essex 36 Rappahannock 8

CLASS 1 REGION B
6 SURRY COUNTY (5-5) at 3 CENTRAL LUNENBURG (7-2)
The Chargers were just a few key possessions away from having an undefeated regular season. Stopping the Chargers may not be in the cards all together but Surry has the talent to score with them. Anthony Tynes has the athleticism to help get it done.
PREDICTION: Central Lunenburg 34 Surry County 28

5 WILLIAM CAMPBELL (4-4) at 4 SUSSEX CENTRAL (6-2)

Improving throughout the season, the Generals will be coming in looking for the upset but the Tigers will have other plans. Jalen Prosise has sensational speed and will need to have a big night if they plan on going up town Staunton next week.
PREDICTION: Sussex Central 42 William Campbell 14
