Coach Dylan DeHart and the Royal Tigers host the biggest match up in the state Friday night when they host the Essex Trojans. Led by 4 year starter Malik Holmes at quarterback, the Royal Tigers feature a potent offensive attack along with running back Kam Berry and Jaden Stanley to name a few. This will be their first major test of the season while their opponent from Tappahannock come in battle tested.
Coach Todd Jones brings in his most talented all around group since he returned to led the Trojans. Kam Robinson is the Virginia commit that is a major force on both sides of the ball along with Dorian Harris who is a true game breaker. Essex rolled through 3 opponents and came back to defeat the Class 2 defending champion King William.
BOTTOMLINE: King & Queen has been waiting for the big stage for a long time and they will be tested on the ground and also by air from the explosive weapons from the Trojans. Winning the turnover battle and capitalizing off of coverage breakdowns will be the best opportunity for the Royal Tigers. With Essex, there won't be many.
