The schedule was a little lighter this holiday weekend and mothernature didn’t help. Lightening caused several cancellations including a storm that popped out of nowhere across the shores of Maryland that halted the Bronco stampede in Tappahannock in a big surprise.

KING WILLIAM 62 BRUTON 0

There would be no tough battle between these two like in the past as the Cavaliers ran away with this one early to move to 2-0. Marc Gresham had a light night rushing once for a 51-yard touchdown, return a punt 81 yards for a score, and on a botched field goal attempt he even passed for a score to Austin McCray. Corey Stewart had a 12-yard run for a score to get things going and a 38-yard fumble return. Next up the Cavaliers will host Essex in a big rivalry game.

WASHINGTON & LEE 71 MATHEWS 6 (Thurs)

The Eagles held Mathews to (-)30-yards rushing on the night and producing a high scoring 2nd quarter to distance themselves. Chase Scott went 4 for 4 for 154 yards and 3 touchdowns on the night. Shane McNeil caught the games first score on a 60 yard touchdown reception and caught a 31 yard score. His brother listed as one of the top receivers, JJ McNeill caught a 36-yard touchdown. Montavious Johnson had 2 punt returns for touchdowns (44 and 51 yards). The 4th quarter wasn’t played.

NANDUA 50 WINDSOR 7 (Thurs)

The Warriors and Dukes flipped expected performances from a week ago as the Dukes minus a few starters were out of it early on the road at Nandua. Sophomore JaWan Needam’s speed was too much as he hit the endzone on a few occasions. Junior Jaheim Bailey and Senior Demani Baines were powerhouses running strong for the Warriors all night. Nandua hosts Arcadia on Friday.

SUSSEX CENTRAL 26 LANCASTER 20 2OT (Wed)

Lancaster was forced to punt with a 14-6 lead and Tyree Rose gave the Tigers the spark then needed taking the punt 60-yards for a touchdown and he would do the honors of getting the game knotting 2-point conversion to make it 14-14. Tigers were held on a goal line stance by the Red Devil defense in regulation that could have ended it. After stopping Lancaster on their 2nd overtime possession, Rose would go in on 4th down from 5-yards out to give the Tigers their first win.
