The host school completed an undefeated run, going a perfect 13-0, to win the Second Annual Green Run Summer League in Virginia Beach. That brings the Stallions' record to 21-0 this off-season when combining their recent unbeaten weekend at the Boo Williams Team Camp in Hampton.

Top-seeded Green Run edged #2 seed Lake Taylor, 42-41, in overtime in the Championship. It marked the second time that the Stallions rallied to defeat the Titans. Their previous encounter was a 46-44 nail-biter in May, an early indication that both will be Top 10 representatives in their respective divisions in the state next winter (Green Run in 5A and Lake Taylor in 4A).

Six-foot-2 guard DeShaun Wade from the Class of 2017 scored a team-high 15 points for Green Run on 4-of-10 shooting from the field. His two free-throws with 17 seconds left in OT gave Green Run the lead. Class of 2016 forward Sterling Carrington (6'4") registered a double-double with 11 points and 16 rebounds. It was the second game in a row where he corralled eight offensive boards.

Lake Taylor, which was 16-of-44 from the field as a team, got 19 points from 6-foot-3 rising senior wing Travius Smith. Used some in a point forward role Smith chipped in six rebounds and there assists. Class of 2016 guard Gabe Miller (5'9") added 10 points and five steals. The Titans missed two shots within 15 feet of the basket before the horn sounded in OT.

Neither team was great at the foul line; Green Run going 9-of-19 and Lake Taylor 6-for-14.

One of the teams that beat Lake Taylor besides Green Run during the Summer League was Tallwood, but the Lions were not so fortunate in the semifinals. The Titans overwhelmed them from the start, cruising to a 55-19 win with three players scoring in double-figures. Jalen Jordan led the way with 16 points, Demonte Tyler added 15 with nine coming on three-pointers, and Smith chipped in 10.

In the other semifinal, Green Run won 51-42 over Lake Taylor's 'B' squad. Carrington was a force with 22 points on 7-of-14 shooting and 10 rebounds. Torey Fields had eight points off the bench.
