I have used statistical methods and the Gilliam Ratings to determine every team's chances of advancing each level through the playoffs.

Ocean Lakes is the biggest favorite in the entire VHSL for winning a state championship.

One team is over a 5 Quadrillion to 1 shot (that's not very good) in 5A.

Haters are gonna make posts about cheating etc lol anyways South County and LB seem to be some pretty good teams heading towards playoffs

The South always feels really, really good about their teams, but the North always plays them closer than expected and more than wins their fair share.

Just saying.

I agree. The NR teams are battle tested & Ocean Lakes crumbled under the pressure against Colonial Forge 2 years ago.

I think the State tournament would be more interesting if the final 4 teams were reset to the team's power points & played at a neutral sight!

Your turn.

Prove me wrong.

Man I remember that 2000 state championship. Deep Creek was crushing EVERYTHING that year we all just knew they'd get that state title. It was a muggy Saturday and I was a senior at Norcom working at a Food Lion full of Creek kids and we had the radio tuned into the game. CVille was giving Creek the business, and we were shocked! Creek came back but CVILLE stopped that 2-point conversion. Heartbreaking, but good game nonetheless, according to folks we knew who went and of course reports up here.

Most years that I've done the ratings the Eastern Region representative and Northern Region representative had pretty comparable ratings. The computer has always love the Concorde District. Not so much this year. Ocean Lakes really has a huge lead over everyone else (at least 17 points). This gap usually closes some as we progress through the playoffs, but they'll be big favorites until they lose or win the title, I'd say. Of course, I've seen giant favorites lose it before. Wouldn't be the first time.
