The top-seeded Henrico Warriors pushed their record to 22-1 overall by defeating the #4 seed Hermitage Panthers, 94-65 at Lee-Davis High School on Saturday afternoon in the Conference 11 Tournament semifinals.
Ranked #1 in the state in Group 5A, Henrico seized control from the start and led 53-19 at half-time. Senior guard and Naval Academy commit Ryan Pearson scored a game-high 26 points, converting on 6-of-10 three-point attempts. Junior forward and Top 150 recruit De'Monte Buckingham added 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting and collected nine rebounds. Senior forward and Virginia State commit Walter Williams chipped in 15 points and eight rebounds.
While Hermitage's season came to a close, Henrico secured a berth for the 5A-South Region Tournament. Before opening round play in regionals, the Warriors will take on #3 seed Deep Run, a 47-45 upset winner over Highland Springs, in the Conference 11 Tournament Championship at Hermitage on Monday night.
