Trinity Episcopal receiver Tink Boyd may very well be the best senior prospect not currently committed to a D1 school. Boyd belongs on the list of under-recruited players who go on to prove their stock was much higher.

His film shows production, his stats show production, and he has excelled at every situation in the classroom and on the football field. He was selected VISAA 1st team All-State, All-Virginiapreps D1 as well as 1st team All-Richmond Metro at receiver.

Boyd has some interest from New Hampshire and as a walk on to Wake Forest. He also has some scholarship offers from D2 schools.

He had a very productive senior year finishing with 15 touchdown receptions on 66 catches with 1334 yards. In his last game as a high school player, Boyd was selected Most Valuable player of the Big River Rivalry All-Star game hauling in nine passes for 154 yards and a touchdown. In a loss to Fork Union, Boyd set a single game record with 300 receiving yards while catching 12 passes with four touchdowns.

Trinity Episcopal has had several former receivers in the past few years who are all playing D1 college football and who all saw action on the field in 2017. The names include Will Michael (William and Mary), Jack Freudenthal (Wake Forest), Trevion Armstrong (Nevada), Zane Lewis (Air Force), Jake Brown (James Madison) and Rimoni Dorsey (Pittsburgh).

"He's a combination of all of them" Trinity Episcopal head coach Sam Mickens said. "The one thing they all have in common is that they’re all tremendous competitors...Tink is the real deal."

Boyd sacrificed for the Trinity Episcopal team playing quarterback, running back, cornerback and safety during his time as a Titan. He also starts for the Titans basketball team that won a state championship in 2017.

"Tink is a winner, a warrior, and makes whatever team he is on better," Titans basketball coach Rick Hamlin. “In football or basketball he makes those around him better with his competitiveness, intelligence, and fire. He’s one of my favorite players I’ve ever coached.”
