Maggie Walker will represent Region 2A East as the top seed after they won the region championship game by defeating Goochland 8-5. The Green Dragons entered the Region finals after shutting out both Amelia (9-0) and Madison (4-0). Goochland shutout Nadua 4-0 and then defeated Stratsburg 4-1 in the Region semi-finals. Maggie Walker stretched their scoreless streak to 17 innings after taking a 5-0 lead into the 4th inning.
Goochland tied the game at 5-5 with five runs in the top of the 4th inning with the big blow coming from John King who had a 3-run double. Maggie Walker rallied for three runs in the bottom of the 5th inning with Forrest Smith hitting a 2-run double. The game was called in the top of the 6th inning.
Virginia High School will seek their 3rd straight State championship after defeating Grayson County 10-9 to win the 2A West Region championship. It was the 3rd straight 2A West Region title for the Bearcats. Virginia High defeated Lebanon and Glenvar on their way to the title game. Grayson County scored 24 runs while defeating Union (17-0) and Randolph Henry (7-5).

Aaron Rose crushed a triple in the seventh and courtesy runner Ryan Bradley scored the game winner on a sacrifice fly by Anthony Morales. Clay Malcolm was three for four with two doubles and scored three times. Anthony Walden was three for three and scored twice. Rose finished with two hits and Matthew Hunt had two hits and two RBI's. Garyson County will face Maggie Walker at Kiwanis Park at 10am Friday followed by Goochland meeting Virginia High at 1PM with the winners playing for the 2A State title on Saturday at Radford.
