CD Hylton emerged among a handful of challengers to win the Region 6A South championship with a 7-3 win over Cosby. The Bulldogs pounded out 11 hits and scored a run in each of the final three innings. They led 2-0 scoring a run on a wild pitch and a single from Chris Colangelo.

Cosby tied the game in the 3rd inning with a sacrifice fly from Hague and an infield error. Ryan Clawson singled home a run to give Cosby a 3-2 lead. However, that would be the last run allowed by pitcher Trey Shepard who did not allow a hit after the 4th inning. He finished with one earned run allow with six strikeouts while allowing only four hits.

CD Hylton tied the game in the 5th when Jaran Davis walked, stole second and reached 3rd on a wild pitch. Ethan Semones tied the game with a single. Shepard helped his own cause with a single in the 6th and the Bulldogs added two more runs in the 7th on a sacrifice by Colin Verberg and a RBI single from Ortiz.

The Bulldogs also shutout Manchester and defeated Western Branch on their way to the Region championship game.

Chantilly will look to play in the their 3rd straight State championship game after winning the 6A North championship with an 8-3 win over Battlefield. The Chargers scored five runs in the 1st inning and scored all eight of their runs in the first three innings when they led 8-0

Jared DiCesare drove in three runs and finished with three hits including a double and a triple. Ryan Krueger had two hits and Brady Ryan drove in two runs. Forest Wagner pitched a complete game while striking out eight for the win.

James Beasley relieved McGinnis and tossed five shutout innings with seven strikeouts in relief. Brady Harju belted a 2-run homerun and star pitcher Jake Agnos finished with two hits.

Chantilly reach the finals with wins over West Potomac, McLean and Patriot. Brett Norwood drove in both runs including the game winning RBI in the 7th inning to beat Patriot.

Battlefield rode the arm of Agnos to earn their State title appearance. Agnos won two games while striking out 26 batters. He struck out 13 while allowing two hits in the Region opening win over South Lakes. Keagan McGinnis threw a 2-hitter in the Bobcats 6-1 win over Westfield. Agnos also threw a 2-hitter while striking out 13 to help Battlefield beat Centreville 2-0.
