This week might have been the most difficult one to select a Player of the Week. Today's edition of Impact Players features many of the usual suspects, but also a slew of new faces. Let's take a closer look at some of the gridiron heroes from this past Friday night in the Roanoke/Lynchburg area.

Player of the Week: Mason Dermott, RB/DB, Hidden Valley:

Congratulations to Mason Dermott for taking home this week's top honors. Due to the constant heavy precipitation, the Titans were forced to lean on the senior even more in their district showdown with Blacksburg. Dermott answered the call, carrying the ball 38 times for 231 yards. The 5-7, 175 pound tailback was kept out of the endzone until late in the fourth quarter. Dermott literally put his team on his back and carried the ball on all eight plays of the go-ahead 73-yard drive.

Ty Albritton, WR/DB Cave Spring:

Albritton made his presence felt on all three phases of the game in Cave Spring's 41-14 win over Carroll County. The senior caught a touchdown pass from 40 yards out, scooped up a fumble and raced 40 yards for a score, and returned a punt 48 yards to setup another touchdown.

Tyler Rice, RB, Cave Spring:

Cave Spring amassed 249 yards on the ground against Carroll County, highlighted by 163 from Rice. The speedy tailback averaged 7.3 yards per carry and scored three touchdowns, including a 76-yard scamper in the fourth quarter.

Tyrell Adams, QB, William Fleming:

Adams only carried the ball six times, but three of them went for touchdowns in the Colonel's 28-7 victory over Staunton River. The senior also tossed a 30-yard TD to Warren Craft in the third quarter.

Noah Fletcher and Bradley Lythgoe, RBs Lord Botetourt:

It was business as usual for the dynamic duo in the Cavalier backfield. Fletcher led the way with 128 yards and three touchdowns. Lythgoe rushed for one TD, and also intercepted a pass on defense and returned it 68 yards for a score.

Daequan Meyers: RB, Brookville:

It is only October, but Meyers eclipsed 1,000 yards for the 2014 campaign in Brookville's 40-14 triumph over E.C. Glass. Meyers reached the milestone with thunderous applause, as the senior dashed 80 yards for this third touchdown of the evening. Meyers earned 204 of the Bee's 448 yards in the win.

Cameron Miller-Trent:

The Jefferson Forest offense has been clicking on all cylinders this season, and it seems as though its catalyst changes on a week-by-week basis. It was Miller-Trent's turn in the Cavaliers 45-16 win over Amherst, as the junior rushed for 134 yards off of just six carries.

Landon Ferrell, QB, Heritage:

Ferrell made his first start under center since his days on the junior varsity team, but showed no signs of any rust, completing 14 of 19 passes and two touchdowns in Heritage's 42-36 win over Rustburg. The Pioneers trailed by 16 points in the second half, before Ferrell helped mount a furious rally.

Anthony Lovelace, QB, Rustburg:

Rustburg lost another heartbreaker this past Friday night. It is no consolation, but Lovelace finds himself on this list once again. The dynamic signal-caller accounted for 257 yards of total offense, and scored three total touchdowns.

Brett Whitlow, RB, Giles:

Facing one of its toughest defense tests to date, Giles County did not miss a beat thanks to the quick legs of Whitlow. The senior rushed for 162 yards and four touchdowns in the Spartans' 42-7 win over Auburn.

Daryl Manns, RB, Glenvar:

Manns has been a mainstay on this list, and is back once again, after rushing 14 times for 159 yards and one touchdown in Glenvar's 43-0 win over Eastern Montgomery.

Marcus Finley, QB, Radford:

Finley had a hand in four of Radford's five touchdowns in the Bobcats' 34-14 win over Floyd County. The junior rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns, while tossing for 98 yards and a pair of scores.

Kendall Castro, QB, Riverheads:

Castro tossed four touchdowns in the first half of Riverheads' 48-6 blowout of Page County.

Walker Jensen, RB/DB, Riverheads:

Jensen rushed for one touchdown and intercepted two passes, including one for a score in the Gladiators' blowout win.

Tavian Brown, QB, Robert. E. Lee:

Brown has been the driving force on the Leeman's three-game winning streak. In a 24-14 victory over Spotswood, Brown rushed for 158 yards, and passed for an additional 86.

Kirk Rygol, QB, Broadway:

Broadway is now in the driver's seat in the Valley District thanks to the arm and legs of the explosive sophomore. Rygol tossed a pair of touchdown passes and ran for an additional 101 yards in the Gobblers' 29-28 overtime win over Waynesboro.

Joseph Dixon and Charles Harris RB, Galax:

Galax knocked off Fort Chiswell 42-24 behind its explosive running game. Dixon led the way with 238 yards and three touchdowns, while Harris added 133 yards and one score for the Maroon Tide.

Tyler Dressler, QB, Covington:

Dressler was impossible to contain in the Cougars 48-8 win over Craig County. The dynamic signal-caller ran for three touchdowns and tossed an additional score.
