Game Recap Southampton Shocks Franklin, Charles City Gets Favorable Bracket

SOUTHAMPTON 43 FRANKLIN 8

Southampton was able to get a big win by crushing their rivals in Courtland and showing them that the big red machine was real. Coach Littleton Parker's group led by the strong rushing attack led by Tayriel Ruffin went up 16-8 and never looked back. Smashing the Broncos and securing a home playoff game in Courtland. It is expected for the Indians to host the Greyhounds of I.C. Norcom.


CHARLES CITY 48 WEST POINT 14

Cecil Tyler and Mason Jefferson led the Panthers to leaving no doubt that one of the hottest teams in Region A would be apart of the playoffs. The Pointers set the tone in the 1st wanting a tie down the game pace but Charles City broke loose in the 2nd quarter. Tyler rushed for 160 yards and Jefferson 107 yards. The Panthers travel to Franklin on Friday to avenge an early season lost.

SUSSEX CENTRAL 52 SURRY 12

Surry County entered the night needing help as they failed to get the victory last week at home. They wouldn't get much help from rival Sussex Central who cruised to the victory. Tyrese Rose came up big with 2 interceptions, an 82-yard interception return, and had 56 yards receiving. Qb Malik Delk rushed for 2 scores and was 7 or 11 passing for 130 yards and a touchdown.

PARK VIEW 83 WINDSOR 0

The Dragons made sure Windsor tap out early as they cruised to the victory. Coach Kelvin Hutcheson's group will play host to Tabb as they look to be ready to move on. Windsor will try to have a better campaign next season in the tough Tri-Rivers district. Look for German Neville (pictured) and the Dragons to make a name for themselves over the coming weeks.


KING WILLIAM 90 KING & QUEEN 18

King William was in a close one early with has been their thing all year. Ryan Huffman and company got the job done in the end blowing out the Royal Tigers. The Cavaliers are likely to face Madison County who they struggled to stop in their season premiere.
