SUSSEX- Sussex Central and Franklin have one of the most intense rivalries in which records usually play little factor for the passion each team feels for beating the other. The Broncos came in looking for the upset win to secure a playoff berth while the Tigers wanted to make sure not to take the young Broncos lightly. Sussex Central would not to do that at all.

Sussex Central got things started defensively forcing Franklin into a 3 and out. The Bronco’s punt would get blocked by freshman Malik Lankford setting the tone early for the Tigers. Amari Hill would go in from 10 yards out to give the Tigers a 6-0 lead with 8:14 in the 1st quarter.

Sussex Central's line was dominant most the night against 9-men in the box.

Franklin would go completely to the air but would find no connections in their attempts. They would soon force a fumble on the Tiger’s next position with an outstanding tackle by Dashawn Butts. The next play Myreon Barrett would throw to Logan Pearson-Hines down the middle for a 60-yard touchdown that got the visiting Franklin faithful encouraged. Josh Johnson’s kick made it 12-7 with 2:38 left to play in the 1st. That would be as close as the Broncos would get.

Edmond would make a perfect read on the option and go 76-yards untouched for the touchdown. Trevon Hatch added the 2-point conversion making it 20-7 with 1:43 left in the quarter. Hatch would set the Tigers up with another solid run and Hill would finish the deal with a 24-yard touchdown run and Hatch would convert the two points. Sussex Central led 28-7 with 10:23 to play in the 1st. Hatch would break a 57-yard touchdown run on the Tigers possession and Edmond would go in for the two making it 36-7.
