The decision was so difficult this week, that we decided to name two Players of the Week. While our two MVPs stood out among the rest, there was no shortage of impact performances in the Roanoke/Lynchburg area last week. Today's list features many of the usual suspects, with a few exciting newcomers.

Co Player of the Week: Navy Jones (running back,, Jefferson Forest):

Jones has been in the running for this award every week this season, but his performance against Magna Vista deserves extra praise. The explosive senior rushed for 245 yards and four touchdowns off just 12 carries. Jones' highlight of the night came through the air, when he hauled in a pass from Cole Scott and raced 60 yards to the house to extend the JF lead. Jones has already scored 13 total touchdowns this season.

Co Player of the Week: Grayson Overstreet (running back, Staunton River):

Like Jones, Overstreet has been on this list every week, but the sophomore continues to outdo himself. For his latest trick, Overstreet rushed for 315 yards, off just 10 carries in Staunton River's 69-26 triumph over Liberty. The Golden Eagles racked up over 650 yards of total offense, with Overstreet grinding out nearly half of the impressive mark. Overstreet's four touchdowns came from 63, 73, 74, and 80 yards respectively.

Other Impact Players:

Cole Scott (quarterback, Jefferson Forest):

While Jones and fellow running back Cameron Miller-Trent have earned the bulk of the attention, Scott's impact on the Jefferson Forest offense can not be ignored. The first-year starter threw for 133 yards and a touchdown in the Cavaliers' 53-20 victory over Magna Vista. On defense, Scott recorded a huge interception late in the second quarter, to preserve the first half shutout.

The Entire Brookville Defense:

It's very rare that an entire unit makes this list, but what the Bees have done defensively as a group cannot be ignored. Brookville shutdown an improved Gretna squad, and walked away with a 42-0 victory on Friday night. This Bee defense has played 11 scoreless quarters out of 12 this season, and already owns wins over 5A Albemarle, and reigning 3A state semifinalist Western Albemarle.

Dante Jones (quarterback, Rustburg):

Fresh off of a tough loss to Appomattox, Jones bounced back with a vengeance against Allegheny. The junior threw two touchdowns, while rushing for an additional score in the Red Devils' 26-0 win over the Mountaineers.

Noah Beckley (quarterback, Salem):

Starting under center under the bright lights of Salem Stadium can be intimidating for a first timer, but Beckley was extremely impressive in his home debut. The junior competed 70 percent of his passes for 243 yards, and three touchdowns in Salem's 49-21 victory over William Byrd.

Donte Clayborne (running back, Salem):

Clayborne is making his second appearance in as many games on this list. The senior electrified the crowd at Salem Stadium, rushing for a game-high 142 yards, highlighted by an 83-yard touchdown scamper in the third quarter of the Spartans' romp over William Byrd.

Daryl Manns (running back, Glenvar):

Manns undoubtably slept well on Friday night, following a workman-like performance against Cave Spring. The senior carried the ball 33 times for 185 yards, and two touchdowns in the Highlanders' 28-6 triumph over the Knights.

Noah Overstreet (defensive tackle, Lord Botetourt):

Overstreet was a man amongst boys in the Cavaliers' 56-7 win over Bassett. The mammoth sophomore racked up six tackles for a loss, bringing his total to 18 for the season. The Botetourt defense limited the Bengals to minus-29 yards of total offense.

Bryant Grubb (quarterback, Pulaski County):

The junior racked up 228 total yards in the Cougars' 36-13 win over Franklin County. Grubb gave Pulaski fans plenty to be excited about, passing for a 31-yard touchdown on the first drive. On the ensuing series, Grubb demonstrated his top speed, rushing for a 43-yard score to double the Cougars' lead.

Charles Harris (running back, Galax):

Harris rushed for 273 yards and five touchdowns, off of just 15 carries in the Maroon Tide's 45-27 win over Rural Retreat.

Lyon Oravitz (defensive back, Robert E Lee)

With his team clinging to an eight-point lead against Rockbirdge County, Oravitz picked off a pass in the end zone, and proceeded to take it 100 yards for a score. The huge pick-six promptly returned the momentum to the Leeman, and helped Lee walk away with a 34-19 win over the Wildcats.

Kobe Davis (wide receiver/defensive back, Spotswood)

His team may have lost, but Davis was exceptional in just his third football game ever. Davis hauled in a team-high three catches for 67 yard and two touchdowns in the Trailblazers' 42-28 loss at Western Albemarle. Davis announced his presence on the defensive side of the ball as well. With the game tied at 21 and the Warriors at midfield, the Western offense botched an option attempted. Davis then came out of nowhere, and scooped up the ball, and raced 47 yards for a touchdown to give Spotswood a brief 28-21 advantage.
