Shenandoah District Teams Open Season with "7 Up" Weekend

KW returns nearly all of their skill guys from last season plus sophomore Ksean Hill has been added to the mix as well and he will probably be used all over the field. KW lost 4 starting OL last season, but do return their center, and go 250, 275,300, 300 and 240 across their line. I expect another tight game like last season. Once again KW plays a brutal schedule with Draft, Clarke, Hanover, Woodstock, Strasburg, and Caroline, plus the new school Rocktown and also Mechanicsville. Just like last season they'll be battle tested come November

Football is no longer a sport. Whether we like it or not it's dangerous entertainment. I am one of the individuals who spoke out as pro Coach Prime and Colorado. I still stand by my response. He may never win a dang thing, but he is providing opportunities educationally/financially for himself, family, the University of Colorado, his coaching staff and the team. Hopefully, when it's all said and done the athletes playing for him will have a quality life outside of football.

And hey, the adults at Freedom are not exactly innocent. They let Overton skirt the rules and build a super team. All was good when they were enjoying the prestige of winning championships.

I am glad you have gotten your bowels worked up. I have been telling you this for two years. Not sure how the VHSL and member schools can sleep at night knowing full well how Freedom and Hayfield are being operated. Oh I forgot they need someone to report it even though it's smacking them dead in the face. The travesty isn't just these two programs.

Madison is better this year but still not over the hump. Hall of Fame coach Eddie Dean retired in 2004. The ensuing 20 seasons have been pretty bad overall. Coach Helmick has injected some enthusiasm into the program (see the much better numbers on the sideline). MC has some skill players. And if the off/def lines were as good as some of their parents thought, they would be state contenders…but in reality, they are not ready for prime time…yet. Looking at our schedule, I feel 5-5 may be obtainable…but probably not if they lose to Staunton Thursday. Being very optimistic, I’ll say MC 17-16😃

I think Riverdale Baptist in Maryland is still open on 10/4 which is Varina's current bye week. Would be a decent matchup. Hayfield is playing them a few weeks later.

Granville Central NC, near Mecklenburg, called off their season last week.
Might try Southern Durham for a 10/25 game if Atlee will move to 10/4.
Their opponents with common open dates aren't ranked nearly as high by Massey.
