While things didn't go their way today, I'd like to recognize the achievements of this Tiger senior class. Beginning their freshman season, King and Queen had only won 9 games in the previous 10 seasons. Fast forward to now and this senior class has won 34 games included in that is an abbreviated sophomore season because of Covid. They also made it to three straight regional championship games and put King and Queen football back on the map. For many, many years, King and Queen was who everyone tried to schedule for homecoming, but that's no longer the case. I know I'll miss out on some names and it's not on purpose, but to Malik Holmes, Kam Berry, Jorden Johnson, Tyquan Speight, Jaden Stanley, Elijah Boone and the rest of the King and Queen senior class, thank you for the last 4 years.

With that said, the cupboard isn't completely bare at King and Queen. They return 3 starting linemen and have some very good sophomores who already have 2 years of starting experience. Lastly, congrats to Coach Dehart, Coach Dabney and the rest of the Tiger coaching staff on a great season.

Good afternoon. Sad news out of Charlottesville. A former Varina and Petersburg football player has allegedly shot and killed three current UVA football players. The suspect in question was a 2018 member of the UVA team. I have attached a report for your review. I have only covered one team on the BD 2022 schedule. The 2016 Maret Frogs. Maret does not play against any of the top private schools in the DC/MD/NOVA region. In 2016 if you played Maret, a DC private school, you would have gotten some gridiron trouble from them as they easily won the DC championship in their league. Garrison Burnett, now a graduate student of that team, plays for the Maine Black Bears having spent 3 years at UCONN. Unfortunately it is now 2022. Everything can be summed up in the 6 point victory BD squeaked out over the, at the time, 3-2 Frogs. The 2021 D3 Va State Champion 2022 version of the Phoebus Phantoms are the polar opposite of the Maret Frogs. The Tigers will face the most ferocious defense they have witnessed all year. Only bad weather will slow Phoebus down. I said I was not writing anymore sports related articles and I'm not.

Behind 405 rushing yards and 7 tds for Tydrez Clements, Graham proved to be too much for a very talented Ridgeview team. Way too many penalties on Graham or this could have been a bigger margin of victory. 3 tds called back on the G men for holding. Refs were flag happy all game long

The refs called a roughing, the passer penalty and a illegal man, downfield penalty and called them off, setting and then work off 20 yards and penalties against fetus during an extended deadball. Play has still not resumed.

The top-seeded Phoebus Phantoms (12-0) and second-seeded Lake Taylor Titans (11-1) are scoreless through one period of play at Darling Stadium in Hampton in the Region 3A Championship.

Glass was the bigger and stronger football team and they had a system and game plan that excentuated those advantages. Salem played hard, and almost got back into the game, but Glass answered everytime Salem pushed them. I thought Salem might be a year away and Salem should be very good. However, Salem needs more size and strength up front, so Spartans get your butts to the weight room and go to work.

What the thoughts on this one. Bradley made some comments after the regular season loss. Will the Pioneers have enough to pull this one out?

Well. Recruiting should get worse now that an IMG Academy transfer did absolutely nothing to improve the odds of navigating 4 weeks of hard hitting Virginia playoffs. Should LCA go play independent league or stay competing with Virginia public schools? There are serious downsides to the business of national level private school football and if LCA makes a move to be like the big boys around America then they will need new opponents and opportunities. For now, enjoy the off-season and great year.
