The Battle for #1 in 4B

These last 3 weeks are going to be absolute madness. Huguenot will win out but they need both Varina & Dinwiddie to lose in order to obtain the 1 seed I think. I have no idea how things will play out if Varina and Dinwiddie both win out / or one loses I know someone can help me out with that.
A lot of great football coming the next 3 weeks with huge seeding implications:
Eastern View v King George
Highland Springs v Varina
Matoaca v Dinwiddie
Highland Springs v Hanover

Football playoff format...wishful thinking

Now that we have so many schools in Virginia, it is common for a team to travel long distances for playoff games. This year we've already seen Prince George travel to Fleming, JF travel to Sherando, and PH-Roanoke travel to Matoaca. All of those trips are over 2h 45min one direction. It's obvious that long trips doesn't matter to VHSL and I'm completely fine with it. Now to the point of my post.

I wish VHSL would re-seed the tournament after the second round of the playoffs based off of end of regular season power ratings. This would increase the likelihood of the two best teams meeting in the championship game. If they did this for this year we would have some interesting match ups that we usually wouldn't see. Under this format we would have the following games Thanksgiving week;

#8 Hampton @ #1 Dinwiddie
#5 Sherando @ #4 John Champe
#6 Tuscarora @ #3 Phoebus
#7 Salem @ #2 Varina

Great Season of High School Football

Another great season of high school football. Congratulations to all the teams that won today and the teams that were runner ups. It’s hard enough to get to the state game. I thank you guys for all the insight you all provide. For a football lover like me it’s awesome to go on this board and hear about everything going on around the state. Love you guys. You all have a great Christmas and New Years with your family and friends or whoever you will be celebrating with. Thank you

Final Virginiapreps Private School rankings

1. Woodberry Forest Tigers 8-0

Woodberry Forest was my #1 ranked Private School team. They finished 8-0 and their undefeated season included a sweep of the four Richmond private schools. They defeated 2-time VISAA champion Benedictine 31-14 in late October. The Tigers ended the regular season by winning the 123rd meeting of "The Game" against Episcopal. Senior Mark Wamhoff was selected as the Tigers Offensive Player of the Year.
