Essex Girls Region A, Class 1 Champs…
Essex 52 Westmoreland 29 Final. Congrats to my lady Trojans on winning the District, District tournament and now Region A championships with a 23-0 record. Now it gets harder in state play. Congrats again to the Lady Trojans. They’ve added to their NND regular season championship by winning the NND Tournament Championship last night. They are now 20-0 heading into regional play. Congrats to Essex head coach Rev. Jonathan Mercer for his Coach of the Year award.- Essex Trojan1

Out of the 132 allowed by Essex, 89 of those points were from 2 teams…Northumberland twice 54-35 & 54-26. The other was Lancaster 38-28. Five teams scored 6, 7, or 8 points, another 5 were shutouts and 1 was a FF.- Essex Trojan1

Essex vs Altavista
The 1st half Altavista was pounding Essex defense with those 2 RBs. Second half, Essex’s D started to shut that run down. Hats off to the Trojans defense. Can’t forget about King William’s Demond Claiborne (RB) at Wake Forest and Adairius Jones (DL) who was at Texas A&M for 3 years but transferred to The University of Memphis this season. Kam got a pick 6 vs Louisville last nigh. That’s his 2nd int for the year. A week or so ago he was listed as the leading true freshman linebacker in the nation in tackles made with a total of 47. Is Westmoreland Hanging It Up For The Season?
Saw a post saying Westmoreland has forfeit their game this Friday vs. Essex. The post also said that they also canceled the rest of their football season due to injuries and players that are no longer on the team that drop the number of available players. Is there any truth to this?- Essex Trojan1
