    Salem Roster Question

Are you serious with this? Let’s see - I graduated near the top of my class from William & Mary, so I think I’m good on punctuation and grammar. If you like, I’d be happy to start red-lining all your middle school-level submissions. For instance: “Do you no know where to place question marks...

    Salem Roster Question

A quick look at Chaney’s Hudl highlights video from last season says you’re correct. My mistake. I would have bet good money he wore 10 last season. I would have lost.

    Salem Roster Question

I’m watching tonight‘s game against Cave Spring online. I can’t make out anything the stadium announcer is saying. Who is number 10, playing quarterback for Salem? I’m pretty sure Logan is number 11, and he has been on the field tonight at receiver, so just wondering what’s up at the quarterback...

    Top Ten, Anyone?

“...it's all going to go too fast for us!!!” You said it! In a span of just eleven days, Salem’s season went from “not yet begun” to “already halfway through.” I’m just keeping fingers and toes crossed that all teams, especially those in contention, are able to complete their schedules.

    Top Ten, Anyone?

Speaking of Stone Bridge - the Bulldogs have managed to win at least one playoff game in eighteen consecutive seasons. That has to be a state record. And in fourteen of those eighteen seasons, Stone Bridge won two or more playoff games. I have tons of respect for what that program has achieved.

    Top Ten, Anyone?

In Region D, five of the eight teams already have at least one loss. Jefferson Forest, Pulaski Co., and Salem remain undefeated. Salem and PC are scheduled to play each other, which means at least half of the four-team playoff field will have at least one loss. What happens if a team misses...

    Top Ten, Anyone?

Thanks - back atchya. As I said, it’s just guesswork done for fun. Yeah, I know zippo about any other Region A teams that might be a factor. Salem and Pulaski seem to be separated from the crowd in Region D, but with no non-district games, it’s hard to say for sure. I was almost tempted to stick...

    Log-in Errors

Anybody else having difficulty logging in? I'm getting error messages on both desktop and mobile. Once I log in, I see an error message screen, but if I then hit the "Back" arrow a time or two, I end up being logged in, anyway.

    Top Ten, Anyone?

In this crazy, mixed-up year, it's been challenging to keep track of which teams are doing what, exactly. Schedule disruptions - stay tuned, because there will be more to come! - have made it even more difficult. So cobbling together anything like an accurate top ten for the state is an even...

    Long Time No see

Greetings to you! Very little sports-relevant talk on these boards the last year, sadly, although it's improved since football began. I think that's turned many people off - I know it has me. Looks like your Truckers have a defensive juggernaut, with no points allowed in the first two games...

    Patrick Henry at Salem

I’d be interested in hearing from anybody who saw this game. Particularly, what happened to Salem’s office in the second half? I saw Coach Holter on the news, commenting that they failed to establish the run at the start of the third quarter. Did the Spartans move the ball at all after halftime...

    Pulaski County at Christiansburg

I think Pulaski County will ultimately win this one fairly comfortably, with a two-to-three touchdown margin. Absolutely no disrespect intended towards the last few head coaches at PC, but speaking in terms of head coaching ability, IMO Dixon is on another level from those gentlemen.

    Patrick Henry at Salem

Patrick Henry of Roanoke will travel to Salem Stadium Friday evening to take on Salem, in a clash of 2-0 teams. PH thus far has defeated Hidden Valley 14-6, and Blacksburg 56-0. Salem, in their first outing, likewise blanked Blacksburg 50-0, and four days later took down Christiansburg 35-13...

    Question

Yes, I can imagine what an emormous amount of work such an undertaking would be. I wasn't sure if you are the webmaster for that site or not. If so - my complements. That's a great site, and a great resource. I especially used to like the playoff history links, that had the entire VHSL playoff...

    Question

It may seem that way, but I honestly wasn’t thinking about 2008, as I do remember going to both of those games quite specifically. The regional championship game was possibly the coldest game I’ve ever attended - but I stuck it out until the bitter (for Salem) end. I was remembering 2001...

Pulaski Co. and Hidden Valley having fun in the mud

Heck of a catch by the PC player at the 1:52 mark!

    Final: Salem 35, Christiansburg 13

I “watched” - if you can call it that; the NFHS subscription was money flushed down the toilet - on my iPhone. Others may disagree, but in my opinion this game was not quite as close as the final score would indicate. Salem dominated the line of scrimmage, time of possession, and pretty much had...

    Salem: 50 Blacksburg: 0

Great info, many thanks! Glad to hear kickoff coverage was good; that was a serious flaw last season.
