    I had a coach tell me that I was wrong and the rule book was wrong. I looked and him in dismay and said you just can't fix stupid.

    Here's my gripe

    I would rather work with a lazy official any day than a biased one. It is easier in basketball for me to help the lazy guy out. I just will not ever try to make up calls to even out the calls by the biased guy.

    The VHSL doesn't have the $$$$ to fight LCA in court. The move by LCA is a plain out deal of bullying. LCA will not win it all this year if they choke out when the drug sniffing dogs are brought thru the school.

    The NBA has done a study on calls made out of an officials area. They said 95 % of the out of area calls are wrong.

    Not sure about football, but in high school basketball a referee can call a technical on a fan base if their behavior is obnixous.

    I had one guy quit last year after one game. The abuse can be awful.

    Ya'll are lucky. Lynchburg Association (COA) is 12 football officials short. This on top of getting a nice raise. The $$$$ will not attract many new officials. With the way parents are now, officials will be even harder to find.

    Free Throw Procedures and Foul Administration Amended in 2023-24

    I am not convinced this rule change is going to make the games any safer or cause less fouls to be called. The only thing I see there will be no need to tell the kids alright we have a 1 & 1 deal. Play the miss on the first shot.
