CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA — The Virginia High School League announces its 2024 Class 6 All-State field hockey team. Yorktown senior defender Laney Reiser is the Class 6 Player of the Year, and Stafford Head Coach Bryce Barnes is the Class 6 Coach of the Year.

Reiser totaled 15 goals and added 11 assists this season as she spearheaded Yorktown's second straight Class 6 title with a 2-1 win over Oakton in the finals. A Georgetown University signee, Reiser helped lead the Patriots to four straight Championship game appearances and three state titles in 2021, 2023, and 2024, with a runner-up finish in 2022.

Stafford's Bryce Barnes guided the Indians to a 22-1 record and a Region B Championship in 2024. Stafford reached the VHSL State Quarterfinals before losing to eventual State Champion Yorktown, 1-0. During her three years leading the Stafford field hockey program, Barnes' teams compiled a 61-6 overall record, a 34-2 district record, and two state playoff appearances, including a Class 5 state semifinals in 2022.

The Class 6 First and Second Team squads are attached and are on the VHSL website Field Hockey home page: Class 6 All-State Field Hockey Team.

The All-State field hockey team consists of five forwards, five midfielders, five defenders, and one goalkeeper. Only those players selected to the All-Region First Team are eligible for selection to the All-State team. The All-State selection committee comprises eight coaches, with two from each region.
