2A Preseason Top Ten

This is my rough draft of the 2A preseason top ten. Who is ranked that shouldn't be? Who's not on the list that should be? Who is too high/too low, etc?

I know a lot of people have Glenvar as the preseason favorite since they return so much, but I am very high on Richlands this year, so Glenvar being listed at #2 on my list is not a slight to them, but more a compliment to Richlands.

I also don't feel that any of the 2A Shenandoah/Valley District teams belong in the top ten at this point, but that could change as the season goes on. Gap might be the sleeper from the Shenandoah that messes up those rankings, although I don't see them taking that district.

Ridgeview is one that may catch some criticism as they are a new program, but if those two populations can come together, they could be a force over the next few years.

I have Goochland at 3 due to their ability to reload year after year.

To be honest about #10 Nottoway, I have them at 10 based off of last year, I really have no clue what they have coming back this year, and I was struggling for team at the #10 spot, I was debating Gate City, Buckingham, or East Rockingham.

Clarke should be a little more tested in the regular season as they picked up 3A Riverside, 4A Handley, and 4A Millbrook. Those replaced 3 very weak teams in Stonewall Jackson, Brentsville, and Berkley Springs WV.

I truly feel that Union will be a tough out for anyone if they get things clicking. I gave them their ranking based on potential.

My Super-Early-Uncalled for prediction is an all-west State Championship Game

Richlands is too high at this point. I know there is a lot of hype around them already and they look good. I would probably start them out around 3 until after the first 2 games.

Don't disagree with Richlands at number 1 and Glenvar 2. Either one either order works for me. I would put Giles at 3-4. Don't know much about Goochland but think Giles is better than Union unless the phemon they've got is jumping whole buildings by now.
