2A guys represented well at VHSCA All Star Game! Ethan Reynolds from Chatham lead all passers with close to 130 yards. Brice Wilson from Nelson was one of Red MVP’s with a pick on defense. Loder and Street from Glenvar were there and looked good along with others. Coach Mance from Richlands was the winning “GM” while Matt Hicks from Nelson was calling plays for the winning Blue Team.

I wish this game got more recognition and coverage. I tried searching for rosters and couldn't find one single article. Also looked for coverage of the game and nothing. Other states put an emphasis on their all star games. Would also love to see the game more centrally located. Wise is a beautiful part of the state, but a long way to drive back and forth on a Sunday to watch a game.

Play it in Richmond one year and Salem or Lynchburg the next and alternate them.

This is from 2017, but might explain why the game has been in Wise 3 years in a row.

It is from a local perspective, but coverage of the game...

This game has lost it's prestige since they moved it from the summer. I'm sure there are several reasons for moving the date just my 2 cents.

I've heard the main reason of the seasonal move was due to players not being allowed to participate by the schools they committed to, which makes sense. They were playing a few weeks before reporting to college.
