VHSL Announces 2015 5A All-State Baseball Team
George Marshall’s Mitch Blackstone selected 5A Player of the Year and Stone Bridge’s Sam Plank named 5A Coach of the Year
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA —The Virginia High School League 2015 Group 5A All-State baseball team has been selected. George Marshall senior catcher Mitch Blackstone and Stone Bridge head coach Sam Plank were selected the 5A Player of the Year and 5A Coach of the Year. Plank led his Bulldogs to their first state title defeating George Marshall 9-4 in the finals. Other Group All-State teams will be announced as they are selected.
14 individuals were selected to the all-state squad, which includes -- three pitchers, one catcher, four infielders by position, four outfielders, one DH and one utility player. Only first-team all-region selections are eligible for selection to the All-State team.
