Oakton’s Joe Rizzo selected 6A Player of the Year and Chantilly’s Kevin Ford named 6A Coach of the Year
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA — The Virginia High School League 2015 Group 6A All-State baseball team has been selected. Oakton junior shortstop Joe Rizzo and Chantilly head coach Kevin Ford were selected the 6A Player of the Year and 6A Coach of the Year. Ford led his Chargers to the state championship game before dropping the title game 6-5 to James Madison. Other Group All-State teams will be announced as they are selected. 14 individuals were selected to the all-state squad, which includes -- three pitchers, one catcher, four infielders by position, four outfielders, one DH and one utility player. Only first-team all-region selections are eligible for selection to the All-State team.
