8 man football

I keep hearing some VISAA teams will be participating in 8-man football this year. Who and how will they play? Are these schools hurting that bad?

I keep hearing some VISAA teams will be participating in 8-man football this year. Who and how will they play? Are these schools hurting that bad?

Not sure who is going to be playing it, but 8 man ball is a great option for some smaller schools. They will be able to put a better all around product on the field than if they tried to play 11 man ball with an 18 kid roster. Yes it is different for us purists, but it is a better experience for the kids and fans. Just my two cents.

8 man is a lot faster game. I do like the skunk rule. It is a lot different than conventional 11 man as well. If you ever get a chance watch it sometime. It will make you see the game differently.But as we all know, it all comes down to can you block or tackle. Speed will kill you in 8-man. However it is harder to get a kid recruited.
