We only mentioning the real ballers of Winchester. 36-32 finals. Real contenders may I add. Huguenot, Kings Fork, Halifax and Monacan isn’t worthy!!!Wondering why "The Fork" isn't mentioned in championship conversations in these forums. Strong youth and recreation programs there in Suffolk.
they don't have a history yet; they are gonna get they props if they keep on ballin'.Wondering why "The Fork" isn't mentioned in championship conversations in these forums. Strong youth and recreation programs there in Suffolk.

I view King's Fork as the team to beat this season. They're the top public school in Virginia and top 150 in the nation according to Maxpreps (Which I have a love/hate relationship with). Their only weakness I can see is that defensively their averaging 62 points a game, but that's not a problem when they average 83 points a game. I think it'll take a defensive focused team (Like Norview) to keep them from winning the title, because there's not many teams out there that can put up over 100 points.
Thanks for that info. I didn’t know Hite was at KF. He was a young buck when he took over for Bill Lawson, Frank’s senior year. I like Hite’s coaching style, plus he’s coached in the big game before. The Epps kid from KF is the truth!I don’t that much about Kings Fork but they head coach is one of the best in the state. Coach Hite came and coached Petersburg Frank Mason senior year. And he transformed Frank game to another level. People in the central district (not just Petersburg) still love and talk about Hite and he only coached I believe like 2 years before leaving
I would have never thought this team would have been this good coming into this season. I thought losing pretty much everybody except DJ and Ferrell would have took three steps back. The entire team looks to be in sync on every play. Waller and freshman Roberts have exceeded any expectations by a mile. Lately even Carter has been improving game by game and is starting to have a big presence inside the paint. The East will be a slugfest. With that being said, I call a Kings Fork/Halifax County match up in the final. Halifax is a lot like GW was last year, but younger. They’ll be in the hunt for the next 2 years.
Yea man Hite is a coach any program would love to have, just wish he would have beaten Hampton but it’s hard when you lose yo 2nd and 3rd best players tournament timeThanks for that info. Yessir! That Petersburg team was one of the best teams to NOT win a state championship.. Those 08, 09 and 2010 Petersburg teams were all good with Lawson as well. The young Maxwell brother being out really hurt Petersburg that night. It hurt my soul when Frank fouled out that night and hugged Hite. It was one of the monumental moments in VHSL basketball championship history . Frank left everything he had out there.Yea man Hite is a coach any program would love to have, just wish he would have beaten Hampton but it’s hard when you lose yo 2nd and 3rd best players tournament time
Yea all those teams was special even they made the Siegel center they home court with the crowd they brought. Frank had to have one of the greatest state tournament performances that year even losing the championship. He was on a different page when states startedYessir!
