Salem beat Pulaski tonight and with that took a 26-19 lead in the rivalry winning their 9th in a row in the series. If you do a little math you will see that before the last decade, Salem had a losing record to Pulaski, something no team with more than 3-4 games against Salem could claim. The 9th in a row sets a new record for the series as well. Pulaski had an 8 win streak back in the infancy of the rivalry and had some other 4-5 game streaks as well. There's been controversy (phantom fumbles) and big games aplenty as well (Pulaski beat Salem in 2000 to break Salem's long win streak and during a year they won state and Salem beat Pulaski in 1992 during Pulaski's lone state title run).

Despite the sad turn of the post-Hicks Pulaski program they remain Salem's biggest rival (and used to be most bitter as well). A few years ago when both teams met at 9-0 over 9,000 turned up in Salem Stadium to watch that one. Hopefully they can right the ship more regularly going forward and get back to some of those big games between the two.
