What was Willis White’s all-time record at Salem? I can’t conclusively determine it from Googling. Thanks.

Mags was not overly successful at Glenvar before landing the Salem job. I know It's been a while, but any reason why he wasn't more successful at Glenvar? I think he generally had winning records, but never really elevated them to the higher level of their division. Not trying to pick a fight. I know the Salem program was already a powerhouse when he got there. Maybe the Glenvar job required a lot more building.

I don't know the specifics, but it was his first coaching job and Glenvar had never been very good in football to that point. He also started Hidden Valley's program before moving to coach Salem.

Coach White and his assistants from ALMS up laid the groundwork. Coach Mags with a mixture of White's assistants that decided to continue, and staff he brought in, continued the line of success.

Probably because Salem recruited Glenvar’s best players when Mags was Glenvar’s coach. LOL

I know you where just having fun with your post but it struck me funny for a different reason. During Mags Glenvar tenure the opposite was actually true. There were a number of Salem "defectors" that went from Salem to Glenvar in search of more playing time.

Thanks, Mike! I should have known “the fountain of Salem football knowledge” would have that information. Looking forward to seeing you again at the Salem-Blacksburg game if I can get over to the Salem side during a break - it’s a long ways to go and get back quickly.

I was thinking it would probably be easier on you to talk before the game. I usually get to the stadium around 5-5:15 to tailgate. I could just meet you when you arrive so you are not as rushed. I know you are busy before the game with prep, but it's probably not as much of a crunch as HT.

That works. I usually try to get to games early to get a feel for the pre-game atmosphere, so we’ll plan on that.
