Four possessions, four touchdowns. Lake Taylor's only yardage coming on jump balls.

This extremely talented Salem team gelled right at the right time and are showing their full potential today.

With Leftwich at 6’ 230 lbs and being a senior next year and 6’2” 210 lb Allen who was a FRESHMAN this year at FB you will see quite a bit of it again next year
Jaelyn Allen and Peyton Lewis are two of the most impressive freshmen I have ever seen at Salem. Hopefully they can get all healed up and good to go for next season.

I read down here that LT had two starting LB who were also starting RB go out with injury that much to do with the 2nd half collapse,

It wasn't a collapse. The score was only 6-0 at the half. Salem came out of have time and scored quickly. To go up 7-6. Then LT returned the favor to go up 12-7. Salem scored again on a long pass. 14-12. Then RB goes out after a big hit. Sounds like what you read is trying to put a spin on the game

I’ve heard about Lewis’s speed. Looking forward to seeing it

Lots of spin in that article. Even makes it sound like Lake Taylor recovered onside kick but we're called for being offside--- Lake Taylor got to kick three onside kicks, they recovered None of them. However, because of a crazy rule Salem could not decline and take the ball---stupid rule.

The RB's were knocked out by hard hits by Salem's defense. In fact, late in the fourth quarter many of their players were dragging. Salem had more stamina and their starting running backs were not doing much in the first half. They had two field goals. The veer was shut down. Lake Taylor was forced to pass because Salem pulled away with 28 to 12 lead and they scored with about a minute to go on some great plays by their receivers to set up a touchdown. Salem simply won this game.

Salem was way more physical, bottom line. Yeah they lost their star running back on a draw play where he was met by Salem’s #7 and he got hit hard. The ref sent him out of the game.

You guys Phoebus, Lake Taylor and Lord Botetourt will have quite a tournament.
Pure hell. Lafayette loses some excellent key players and has some coming back, but two Junior starters had Acls during the Phoebus game so their lost to this next season. Going to be interesting for sure .

Salem whipped LT in all phases in the second half. I sat on LT’s side and even their fans admitted that Salem was just the better team. When you have players like Shawn Collins, Zavione Wood, Deuce Logan, Stacy Williams, Cam Leftwitch and Cameron Martindale, you’re really hard to beat. This Salem team was a really special group and the majority of these guys return plus they have a really good 2024 class coming up. Salem could EASILY 3-4 peat.

How many players on offensive line are back next season?

I wonder if they will play those two big d tackles both ways
Possibly, but they may have some young guys step up. Brown could also be in the mix if he works hard. He'll be a Sr this fall, similar size to Williams. Addison Wolfe could be a Center or LB.

I don’t think they will. Worked too good this year keeping them fresh on D. Should have some good options for oline that will be playing well by playoff time.

What was the average size of the starting OL and two tight ends for the championship game?

Congrats to Salem and their fans on another superlative effort and state championship. Pretty amazing with a new coach to skip no beats. At this point Salem should be the program the rest of us try to emulate regardless of the classification. Salem wins their big games! Kudos and well done!
