Blazers lucky to get this win 69-61. Albemerle killed them on the glass. Spotswood has to box out better or that is going to really hurt their chances if they want to get back to Richmond

Agree that rebounding is a prime concern for Spotswood come tourney time, but I will say that Albemarle is a solid 5A squad with a post presence. They may not see a team with that ability to rebound or better until deep in the playoffs, so perhaps a John Marshall. I don't think it will come into play heavily until late mid-late February, possibly in the title game come March.

Albemerle has the size to compete with anybody under the boards. Their point guard can hold his own also. His dad Paul played at JMU and was pretty good.

I don't think I would be off base to say that (1A)Altavista will give Spotswood one of, if not the best game of their season

I definitely agree with you. Spotswood does not have a very good bench. Never really ever had a true inside presence since I can remember. Something about the valley teams..we are guard heavy. Altivista is going to be tough for them to beat. I got a chance to see the twins play in summer league (AAU) with EC fusion and they are strong under the glass. Thornhill is a beast. Can't wait to see this young man play this year. Good luck to you guys and have a happy new year.
