Altavista - State Contender

The Colonels made the Class 1 State semis last year and are honestly better this year! If they can stay healthy, I'm thinking they will reach Salem and bring home the Class 1 title.
They have outscored their opponents 369 to 91 with three shutouts and Stone is running like a madman on teams.

They have been considered a contender since game 1. I’m sure they would like a rematch with Essex if they make it out of Region A.

Altavista is a very good team and most consider them the favorites since about game 5, but Essex, George Wythe, and Rye Cove are tough and let's not forget Rapp who might be as good or better than all of them. Living close to Wytheville, I can tell you GW has been banged up with really key injuries and if they get healthy, they are a legitimate chance to bring home a title also. Going to be fun, and I favor Altavista also, but not a slam dunk.

All those teams mentioned are legit and I would favor Altavista right now, but I would not count out Gap to be a tough out in Region B. They have some size and are sneaky fast.

Altavista should be the favorite to win it all this season imo. I think we get a rematch of Altavista vs GW in Salem. I know my MAROONS have what it takes to beat them but for that to happen we absolutely have to stop that RB lol. That dude killed us earlier this year and as said above GW has had some very key injuries. Not making excuses for that loss the better team won that game that night. But if you look at GWs history if a team beats us early in the season they usually don't the second time around. Radford killed us a few years ago week1 but in the playoffs GW was much improved and sent them home. Same thing happened 2 years ago. Grundy smacked us 42-28 but the playoffs came we got healthy and beat them 35-12. Basically I think it's GW vs Altavista in Salem with GW coming out on top this time around.
