Anybody that was at the game want to give us a little summary? From the scoring sounds like a good game.

PM lived and died trying to run ball. Altavista played sloppy on special teams losing 2 fumbles that allowed PM to hang around .

PM is the very good team and the fans travel amazing.
PM came out and punched Altavista. Scored on first drive. Altavista responded with score of its own to tie game. The Blues are a great team and Dawson is a beast. Blues got a late FG to make it 14-10 at half. But in the second half the number of Colonels that can hurt you, hurt the Blues. No other PM back could get going and Dawson didn't have enough. Altavista's defensive stood strong, shut out the Blues in the second half (and after the first drive gave up only one long play- a halfback pass to set up the FG). Altavista's got the players to bring fresh legs at you (or at least rested legs) all game long. And Dawson didn't have the same speed as the game continued. The Colonels didn't let PM other 1,000 yard back, Arthur, get anything going all night.

Well done, Essex and Altavista represent the East once again. Was not easy by any means, the East was stacked this year it seemed.

It was a great game, but as HR6 said we do live or die trying to run the ball. There is nothing wrong with that. But you better score TD's when you have the ball or else a team like the Colonels will kill you. That defense... my goodness.

mmqp, impressive showing from PM and the entire community of Buena Vista. I watched film of Dawson this week, and was impressed, but nowhere near as impressed a I was when I saw the kid on the field. That opening drive?? Wow. I thought the Colonels were in a world of trouble, wasn't sure if we would be able to contain him. Colonels defense made the right adjustments, and "limited" Dawson to 102 yards. If BV takes that beginning of the 2nd half kick-off fumble and is able to punch it in......I think it's a totally different game. BV defense did a really good job of keeping AHS from the lightning strike 2 and 3 play drives too. I spoke to the Blues radio guys, and all along we thought BV looked like a 3 seed as opposed to a 6 seed, just thought W&L was not as good as the VHSL formula had them (other than the NND had a bunch of teams with decent records).
I got to speak with several BV people, great community, great fans. Congratulation to the Fighting Blues on a great season, and to Rhyeem Dawson on a great career.

Great game. PM gave the rock to 7 on that first drive and I just knew the Colonels were in for a long night. I was impressed that Altavista was able to adjust and make some long sustained drives, something very different from what they've done most of the year. Couldn't understand the colonels play calling strategy right before the half. That was very poor clock management IMO. I was thinking that would come back to bite them but ultimately it didn't. Good win for the home team and a tough loss for a very talented PM team.

I thought Altavista's offense looked a little out of sync all night. They barely beat play clock on a lot of snaps. They took longer to get play in and get lined up than normal.
I just knew they'd hit a big one right before the half.
