whst a great game. I almost left early to catch the end of the Duke game. I'm glad I didn't. It took me awhile to get to sleep after this one.

Let me clarify a few things for you who don't know. First I'm a Lee fan from a distance. I watch them play a few times a year. Especially when they come crush my team. It is always exciting to watch them. Second, I am not a fan of the coach. This goes back to his ass.years. He would kick chairs, slam the scorers table, chase refs after the game etc.
That being said, I told y'all in December they would win. They have the best players. 2 division 1 players. This how Lee is. Most of the time when they have the best players, they win. Look at their state championships. They had the best teams. They have never won when they were considered an underdog. Here me Antgzee!! How many have the dogs won when they weren't considered the favorite? Many!! Including the one to end the streak. When coaching came in. That's why I say most.
People are acting like they did something the last 2 nights. They are the best team!! They should have won.

So in conclusion Lee wins all the time vs. inferior teams. Most of the time when they are equal. And some of the time when they are the best.

The have the best team. So what will happen this time?

The Martinsville Bulldawgs have won a several chips when they weren't a favorite. In fact they have beaten Lee a couple of times in route to claiming the state titles. Most recently, when they beat Dan River two years ago. They were under dawgs.

I will give you the 2006 title game, Martinsville was the underdog. But, Martinsville was better then their 23-6 record because center Wimbush returned after missing a lot of the season. He had a big title game. I think Martinsville finished the season winning their last 16 games. It's not like they didn't have any talent when you have the likes of Beamer, Reid, and Wimbush.

If you are also referring to the 1985 semifinal game, I wouldn't say Martinsville was the underdog. Both teams were undefeated, and the reason it was considered one of the best high school games was because both were very talented. In fact, Martinsville was ranked #1 for most of the season, with Lee #2. The last poll they switched, mainly because Lee beat Long Island Lutheran for the second time in the regular season finale. Lee had lost four starters from the title winning team in 1984.

Well, Lee was still the defending champ back in 85. We also loss one of our main cogs to graduation. His name was Tony Dallas!!!!!! Bottom line, Martinsville has won 3 handfuls of chips.

AntGZee, my point was that neither team was a underdog in 1985. Both were very talented, Lee led by Kevin Madden and super sophomore Todd Dunnings, and Martinsville had that loaded junior class. In 1986, Lee was unbeaten until losing a close game to Brunswick in the semis. It was almost 3 straight seasons that Lee and Martinsville would meet in the state tournament.

No question that Martinsville is the most successful basketball program in Virginia state history. I just hope Lee can win their seventh state title this week. That's not too shabby. According to the VHSL record book, this season's state tournament appearance is Lee's 21st. That's second only to Martinsville's 27. Can you give any other school credit or is Martinsville the only school worth recognition?

Relax!!!! Lee is a great program. We both are homers. I just talk a lil junk, that's all. I stated to another person on here, my comments are innocuous for the most part.

No. I will be at Liberty University from Thursday thru Saturday watching women's softball.
