A lot of 804 heads up here. Would be nice to get some opinions on the game.

Coach Mills will have the Generals ready. I am a faithful card carrying Navy Nation loyalist, but also a realist. With that being said our young men will have to basically play a perfect game and that may not even be enough. If the Generals can establish the run and take a ton of time off the clock we can keep it close. We need to keep a decent tempo going, but know when to catch our breath. If Dinwiddie tries to play too fast too long the Commodore's depth will take over just like last season. I did see a few opportunities for us to attack their offense and I hope our coaching staff did too. We will have to gamble and put pressure on the QB. Give him too much time and he will have success both long and short. I am reasonably optimistic, but leaving Norfolk with a win is not likely in the cards. The Generals have the talent and fight. Hopefully, our youngens enjoy the challenge and gain some knowledge that will help us down the road. Navy Nation will make the trip to Norfolk and support our team. Here's to the football Gods shining on the Generals.

Think Maury will win by about 14-17 points but think if the game goes similar to last year that's a good sign for Dinwiddie. Come out and give your best punch and if it's basically a tie game at half, you're for sure much better than every C4 team except Phoebus, Huguenot, Varina at this point.

Sounds crazy but I wouldn't worry at all about how much Maury scores. . They're gonna score.

If Dinwiddie scores 28. . .watch out class 4.

last year we went blow for blow up until mid 3rd quarter when they recovered the fumble for a TD to make it a 2 score game. We never recovered after that. If we can stay level headed and withstand the onslaught we will have a punchers chance. Maury is going to score but if we can keep them behind the 8Ball I like our chances. It’s going to be a hostile environment Friday night communication and poise will be key

i got Maury 42 Dinwiddie 14

Like 21-14 halftime with Maury scoring 3 more times in second half to extend lead.

The questions i have about Dinwiddie are: No question about Dalton but is the supporting cast up for the challenge? How will Dinwiddie’s secondary hold up against Bond and Co.? Can Dinwiddie’s offense establish a run game and play ball control and limit that Maury’s offense time on the field?

If they have the answers to all those questions then i believe Dinwiddie could gain confidence and make this a good game. If this comes down to coaching I got Mills. And that’s absolutely no offense to McCain because what he’s doing is amazing.

I'll say this. I truly believe Dinwiddie can keep it close for a while by having success on the ground. Maury got pretty banged up in the trenches vs HSHS. The health of some key Commodores will have some impact on this game.

Dinwiddie is arguably the best C4 team in the state. It’s unfortunate that even though they are an 804 team but suffer from the Metro bias. I think a lot of people are underestimating how good they are. They’re top 3 in the whole area code and may not be 3 or 2.

Oh wow. Maury is already without a couple key players that have missed the first 2 games.

I think people are more so hyping Maury instead of downing Dinwiddie. As you've pointed out maybe the Springers are a little down instead of Maury being that "up". Dinwiddie was actually winning at the half last year and most people believe this years team is better so that bodes well for Dinwiddie. I would be extremely happy with the upset but I know it's gonna take an out of body experience from Dalton and an extremely disciplined defense has to show up.

No doubt about it, Dinwiddie has to play error free ball, have the breaks go their way, and get a career performance from not only Harry Daulton, but a couple of others, as well. Even then…,??

Coach Mills has a knack for finding a way to win after he was on the losing end of a previous meeting. Not always, but usually.

Dang @OCBoy. The last time a Coach Mills led Dinwiddie team gave up 55 points was in 2006 (2nd year) when Matoaca scored 64 points. Jeez, I sure hope you are wrong. I guess it's possible, but I tend to believe the General defense will play better than that.

@BoKnowsSports, I have too much respect for the Salem program to even engage in this type of negative stupidity @Touchdown-tony is spitting out. The people of DINWIDDIE are rock solid, humble, hard working folks, and not once this season has any member of Navy Nation even remotely indicated the Generals were going to beat anybody especially Maury. It seems as if the consistency of the Dinwiddie, Phoebus, and Region B programs seem to rub some the wrong way. One can easily check the records. I think you will find that Dinwiddie, Phoebus, and many other schools played up for years and still competed for titles. Don't think for minute that Coach Mills and the generals are scared/intimidated by the likes of LCA, Fleming, and Salem.

LCA AND WILLIAM FLEMING have not been dominant for years. If I recall Fleming had some good teams in the past and LCA only has won one football championship that was last year. No were the run Dinwiddie was established. And Dinwiddie doesn't recruit players such as Private schools like LCA. DINWIDDIE has homegrown players. 804.

Didn’t widdie beat Salem twice 2017 and 2018? One of those years Salem went on to win states?

Any given Friday night anything can happen. I’m sure Maury will know they are in a game.
We should’ve beat em @ William & Mary 💔💔💔 they converted 3 4th downs in a row & took 6 minutes off the clock 😔. If only Louisa didn’t confuse us the First half of the 4B Championship we would’ve got revenge in 2017 😭

Very well said my friend!

@ Maury is the difference from last year but we shall see. I’ll remove a touchdown 48. 😂

I think it was 9 minutes.

Yes sir, but Dinwiddie fans can't claim those wins on Preps because the Salem faithful will always remind us that a state championship tops two regular season wins. Ain't that right @freeatlast2013. ( :) ) The 2016 final was an awesome game and to be honest the 2017, regular season version at Salem was a good one too. Josiah Williams made a one hand grab to score the go ahead touchdown for Dinwiddie. Thanks to a phantom inadvertent whistle on the preceding kickoff (fumble) Salem led by D. Ramsey running like a mad man almost came back to beat us. The 2018, game was quite boring. It was relatively close (27-20), but Salem never led and looked road weary. I may be wrong, but I don't think the 2018 version of the Spartans was one of their better squads. Dinwiddie was very talented and lost in the Region B final to a very good Eastern View team.

Not sure how good either team will be the next two years, but I will enjoy the road trip to Salem.

Oh @CrushBlock Navy Nation celebrated and surely counted the win. It was just a tongue in cheek poke at my pals from Salem.

If we could get a little payback on Phoebus from the 2008 and 2010 losses it would be simply wonderful. I remember watching Phoebus play Heritage in the 2022 final and hearing a Dinwiddie fan who suffered through both losses say "If the Phantoms were playing the old Soviet Union I would wear red, carry a sickle, and learn to say boooo Phoebus in Russian". I almost peed my pants.

I’m sure Dinwiddie fans would trade those two regular season wins for another ring! 💍💍💍💍💍💍💍💍💍💍💍
