Appo -Buckingham

Buckingham is that bad coached. We have the athletes to compete with anyone. When you look at the two teams last night they were equal in size tackle to tackle and both teams got good speed. The only difference was you can tell Appomattox were ready to play and far better coached than Buckingham. These idiots are not even putting their best players on the field. When coaches spend more time arguing with the crowd than actually coaching its bad. To top it off the team has to be at practice at 8 am this morning, 6 days a week for this? Kids are done, parents are done, school is done. New AD taking over (A Buckingham born and raised man) so we know this masquerade sis 9 games from being over. We have the athletes to be very good right now but kids are all out of place and it stinks. Appomattox still wont get beat this year for the record. They will have closer games with better teams but they are still top dogs. Defense isnt as scary as the last two years but the offense is a problem for anyone. The Qb looks like they can throw it 20 times per game if they want to. Tougher games down the road but right now 45-0 looks very achievable.

I drove down to Buckingham for a great game from Appomattox. Everything was clicking, and the team looked great. However, the slowing down of Buckingham as a team is something that everyone should be concerned about in red clay country. Not completely sure how a team can flop from 8-2 to 2-8 overnight and then play the way that they did last night. The Toney kid they've got in the backfield is a great athlete. I wouldn't be upset if he found a place to move to across that border!

Here how you go from 9-1 to 8-2 over night. Hire Josh Wallace. His 3 seasons in Petersburg they went 2-8 2-8 and 3-7. At that time we went 7-3 8-2 9-1..

That's a shame that it has turned out that way. I remember you guys in red clay country were pumped up for Wallace to get there last year. Guess things have changed.

Looks like the fan support for Buckingham has taken a hit with the coaching changes there. I counted only 50 people in the stands about 20 mins before kick-off. Raider fans greatly outnumbered them and filled the stands and sideline. Hoping the "12th man" effort will continue throughout the year.

I saw the Knights had speed and the running game made a few gains against our defensive line. Don't think we will hold the opposition to a low scoring game this year.

O-Line may take a few games to find their place. Still, the potential for big play making is there. Several well-connected passes last night.

Kicker looked good last night as well.

Look forward to seeing this team meld together and make a run at the playoffs.

Sure they were...don't you remember BCKnights talking about the guy like he was the second coming? Yes he changed his tune quickly, but he thought it was great at the beginning.

No I did not talk like he was second coming don't put that trash in my mouth and know your facts before you speak on me dude. I gave dude benifit of doubt before last season because I knew nothing of him. I saw his spread formation they ran at Petersburg and I figured with the talent we had the offense could've became explosive , but he hasn't brought that same philosophy to Buckingham. I had a parent meeting with this dude before the season last year and I knew immediately we were doomed. Advocate can vouch for me because we talked nearly everyday before last season. I just like everyone else in Buckingham wanted Seth Wilkerson to take over. In fact I stay in touch Coach Gill's son since his passing and he's on here now ask him how I felt about Wallace before we lost our 1st game last year. How can we be pumped for another coach after our Legendary beloved Coach died. Foh. If it was any other coach that took over I would've given them benefit of doubt too but Wallace problem is more of the person he is, his coaching is fuel to the fire.

I agree with you on giving coaches the benefit of the doubt. However, you went above and beyond in defense. That's a little more than the benefit of the doubt. It's a shame that he has taken that program and turned in the wrong direction. I agree that coaching has a great deal to do with it as well. Coach Wilkerson is a gem to any program. I had to opportunity to play with him here in Appomattox. Great guy and an even better Coach.

The only coach I ever wanted replaced in Buckingham was Coach Penny and so did the players and other coaches. Sorry you took me the wrong way but I tried to talk my sister into letting my nephew transfer to Appomattox after my 1st meeting with Wallace last year now how pumped was I really. Now ask the people from Appomattox that know me, how I really felt.

Transfer to Appomattox? That would be nice and illegal.
Not when we have family that lives there. His Dad lives there so how is that illegal?

BC buckingam has some really good players on that team and I was telling someone at the game I believe they will win some games this year I believe they will make the playoffs , do you have a opinion on why the numbers are so down there I see where you are saying the coaching is not what was expected but they don't even have enough to scrimmage in practice . Thought on Appo offense looked really good but still looking for the defense to tighten up some and do believe they will get better each week !

The numbers are down because parents don't want thier kids to play for Wallace or kids just don't wanna play for Wallace and that's not my opinion its facts. They had to be at practice all offseason at 8 am, practice every Saturday at 8 am and if kids aren't there they dont play the following game. Parents are tired of that pressure because all these kids dont drive. We have 3 speed burners be at the little league practice who told me they wont playing for that sh!t in thier exact words. I spoke to 2 teachers who walk the track and care less about football but they said to me its a shame that all he does is fuss and cuss at the kids all practice. It was Appomattox fans on our side Friday talking about how the coaches look so overwhelmed. Virginia State has 2 kids who played at Petersburg under Wallace and is close with my nephew and they told us he treated them like crap at Petersburg and 3 of thier best players quit because of him. People here say the kids have to be held accountable too, you right but 2-8 2-8 3-7 at Petersburg and 2-8 and so far 0-1 here with numbers down like Petersburg experienced, kids quitting is kinda like coincidence. My best friend who played at GW under Wallace said the exact same thing. Yall saw hiw he allowed his staff member to air out one of his players on here last year with no penalty and then the kids said they laughed about it at practice. I got a 6-1 270lb nephew in the 10th grade right now that says I'm not putting up with him to play football. My homeboy son is 6-4 240 and said he'll just wait for basketball. What head coach would run off Seth Wilkerson for a guy 1 year removed from D2football to coach your defense? Why wouldn't the numbers be down?

Ok I understand and see a lot of frustration with all of that hope things can get turned around in the right direction there , but still the players are held accountable and do have to put in the time during the off season ! Hope to see you at some Appo games maybe this year ! Maybe advocate can make in for some also !

Buckingham had some good athletes and good size up front.
I don't see them NOT winnings some games this year.

Personnel wise this team is much better than what we had last year but I swear it looks worse and just wait because #4 or #5 isn't the starting Qb... I'll leave it at that.

Ding, ding, ding! BC should fire whomever hired Wallace too! My rational for saying that..., somebody did not do their homework.

Numbers are down for several reasons, mainly Wallace. Kids don't want to play for him or actually can't because of the schedule he demands.

Absolutely the kids have to put in the work in the off season. Facts show in previous years under Coach Gill and before, that Buckingham wasn't short in numbers and neither did past coaches demand the extra hours and days of practice. I also think the kids should be held accountable, but they shouldn't be accountable for issues that are not theirs. If they are hearing and dealing with the things these kids are from their parents and then part of the coaching staff....and are still on that field, then damn it those kids WANT to play and WANT to win. Direction, communication, respect, and more is lacking!

Sept 8th...it has been a unreal streak but all good things have to come to a end. Heritage is for real.

I guess that 3A school is hungry to get some vindication for the last two years.
Our record as of Sunday night is 0-0 (starts new each week). This team knows that "streak" isn't them.
Looking to get a win Friday night against the Red Devils before we worry about anything else.

You call 21 seniors with about 15 of them starting (what little they lost) ha ha
When I saw them play the backups looked quite capable themselves. I wasn't sure how many they lost but obviously they have a lot of talent and are well coached.

Yall won't get beat. Appomattox is still every bit dangerous too and if you believe that you will see.

Not going to happen outsiderforlife. Appomattox is special and will win 2a 3 peat but this is heritages year.

Sorry for late reply, been super busy lately....

Nah I dont remember that at all. BC Knights is a good friend of mine and he felt that way about Wallace from Day 1. We were frustrated that Appo Native Wilkerson didnt get same deal Wallace did, they only offered him a 1 year deal and a unproven wallace got more years on his contract. Wilkerson left after that. Pitiful....that is when I knew something just wont right down there. You lose one of the best coaches on staff? Then the spread Offense? I told BC, I dont think you have the athletes to run that proficiently. Thankfully Appo has had them in previous years to do it when they open up to Spread O. BC and I speak all the time, texting and getting up at games. So.....NAH, you didnt hear a thing from him on that. You thinking about someone else on here.

You might be thinking of that coach from buckingham that came on here trashing some of the kids on their team as he vouched for Wallace.
