First and foremost , Great job Raiders! Your coaches,school and community could not be prouder. You have shown us how to take God given talent , hard work, focus , selflessness and staying humble and gracefully achieve the honor of being State Champions!
To Coach Mance and the Richlands team/ staff; much has been spoken here of disrespecting other teams , etc.,etc.;you could not have been anymore gracious to us personally after the game. We in Raider Country all know the deep and rich football history of the Richlands program and hope we can maintain a similar level of success.Congratulations on a good year as well.
Many fans from teams we have played have been very complimentary of our team and coaching staff; Thank You all.
Many times we all like to get on here and brag on our team as well as joke or pick at other fans. Sometimes it can go a little too far and reflects poorly on us as individuals and our teams; I myself am guilty as charged. I hope everyone will judge the 2015 & 2016 Raiders as a classy team who won with grace and gave back the same respect shown to them.
FYI-I would like to discuss some player performance on a different thread in the coming days and don't want to seem hypocritical at a later date but for now I just want to soak in the win and watch our team & community celebrate.

This Appo team is as good as advertised ! Speed everywhere and very well coached, they are a well deserved 2AA state champion ! The team and fans have a lot to be proud of.
I am also extremely proud of our team, players, coaches and fans ! Coach Mance has done such a good job of getting our program to the point where we are always in the hunt for a championship and has sustained that success for a very long time which is very hard to do in high school especially at the lower divisions.
Appo's coach Smith seems to be such a coach also and the fans there can look forward to years of success in his tenure there,
I hope we have more meetings in the future because that would mean that both are having continuing success, but there are many other teams that may have something to say about that.
Good luck in future, but please forgive if I wish for a different outcome next time......lol

Appomattox is a great team. Hard to argue that they aren't one of the best 2A championship teams ever. This always will come up whether in high school or college, but Appomattox could dominate many 3A/4A teams. Dynamic team they have. Do they return many starters next season?

I was referring to 2A teams.

I think Appomattox could beat most 3A and 4A teams this season.

Appo will return quite a few starters but lose 21 great Seniors who will be greatly missed. We have our work cut-out for us but we have many prospects that were able to get in many regular season as well as play-off games this year, hopefully that will help us next season. All of our receiving corps as well as our QB return.
As I stated on another thread Raider Nation is confident in our coaching staff to "Coach-up" the needed positions.

Eh ! It is the only town in appomattox, have a lot of little mom and pops stores but that's it so yea very small place !

offense has the WR's, QB, 1 lineman & TE back. Defense will miss 4 lineman and a couple of LB's. Offense can reload not sure about the defense

I doubt you played ball with me unless it was baseball and that would have been in Lynchburg. If you remember a dirt bike track down on police tower road then you might know who I am.

Appomattox is small town that you can basically drive across the county whether it is North to South or East to West in about 30 to 35 minutes.
