Just to have something to talk about, what's everybodies thoughts on this game? I say Appo wins in the 1st quarter.

I think this game goes along way to see if William Campbell is contender for 1a we know Appomattox is in 2a.If they are they will compete with Appomattox .

Best team in 1a is not to far behind best team in 2a. Over the years I feel some of 1a champs could beat 2a champs. Probably not Appomattox don't think the 2a champs is normally is at same level as Appomattox has been.

Is there anyone left on Appomattox's schedule that could give them a game?

Rosser and Reid are very, very good. Hats off to the coaching staff at WC for reviving the program. Top to bottom they don't have enough to hang with us for 48 minutes, but those two are really good.

Only if Appo goes to sleep on the field. I really wish we had some stronger teams to play to help be ready for playoffs.

Could just go back to the Seminole district, imagine the gates that could bring in! I think Appo would have given the Seminole a run for its money in 2016! On a serious note Appomattox is growing student wise, any thoughts that they could go that route once they get too big, or is it not going happen? I've been in favor of district gerrymandering for a while now!

How about Floyd beating glenvar this week then glenvar beating Giles then Appo in the top spot even with 9 games !! Thoughts ?
One at a time. Floyd, Giles, and @ Radford and then all rounds of the playoffs will give Glenvar a great challenge. Way to early to begin counting chickens. If Glenvar is as good as I think they are and the boys want a legit shot at beating Appo, if they get that far, they will need all the advantages, like a home field, they can get. They cannot afford a let down from here on out. They seem to be hard working and humble as far as I can tell and the community is as supportive as I have ever seen them. This year has the feel of a special year.

WC has had a good season so far but they are not on Appomattox level. I feel this will be 14-21 point win. Don't get it twisted Appomattox is still the team to beat and my favorite to win state championship.

JV game
27-20 Appo. wins
Was12-0 WC then 20-19 WC at the half.
Appo scored with 16 in game to go up 27-20.

After watching gretna play altavista tonight and wc just getting a win over gretna i have to agree with pioneer.

That's not the way anyone else saw it. Josh is a good young player someone to be watched over the next two years.
Next one year and he does play scared. I have known the kid my whole life. he is a Junior this year. That punt return was nothing special really, He ran around the end with good blocking. Great blocking but he did show a flash of speed I didnt know he had.

No one at the 1A level is going to give Appo a challenge.

Not so sure that Riverheads is not on the level of a Goochland, Poqouson, Graham, or Union. Riverheads would play with it and contend, and maybe beat all 4 of them. So, if Riverheads in 1A isn't giving them a challenge, then I think the same applies to all of 2A. Appo is still the best team in the state in 2A, but the four AA schools above would all play them closer this year than their previous 2 state title years.

Loved watching the goal line stand last night! Special teams prevented a sure William Campbell TD by running a man down in the open field, stopping him on the 1-yard line. Defence comes in and stops them on all 4 downs. That last save by Scruggs so close. Great plays all around.

Amazing to watch the speed and timing of these guys.

That was fun to watch that goal line stand.
William Campbell wanted to make a "statement game".

Not only once did Appo stand them up at the goal, but two remarkable times.

And then took it back 99 yards for the score now that was a statement
