Defending Metro Conference champions Atlantic Shores jumped out to a 24-2 lead with two minutes to go in the 1st quarter in route to a 93-41 drubbing of #7 seed Isle of Wight Academy. The win moves the Seahawks into the Metro Conference semi-finals.
Mastadi Pitt led five Seahawks in double-figures with 17 points. Marvin Trotman added 16 points while senior Jordan Cannady added 11 points, four assists, four steals and five rebounds. Christian Kimbrough and Jordan Banks both added 10 points each. Banks also had a game-high 11 rebounds.
Cannady was the catalyst early in the game with four 1st quarter steals as Atlantic Shores used a suffocating full-court press to open up a 31-7 1t quarter lead.
Isle of Wight senior Chad McCann drained two 3-pointers to start the 2nd quarter but the 18-point spread was the closets the Chargers got the rest of the game. McCann was the only Isle of Wight player in double-figures with 11 points.
