I am surprised Sussex @ Park View isn't being discussed more on this board. Sussex biggest test yet. Sussex is a top 1A program, but are very beatable. Any thoughts woodlayer or anybody else?
How often do they turn the ball over ? They better have the right athletes for the spread or it could be bad .Sussex will always know the veer, but I think they are expanding more on the shotgun spread. Last year they would start in the veer and maybe run that the first half, then run spread the second half. They are very much organized as they have a great coaching staff. They will have a couple guys who will be the best athletes on the field. They also have their own strategies to combat being under sized, even though they are not a small team.
Speed is the main factor and you need it year in and year out ! If you have to make major changes every year to fit your athletes , you end up making a lot of mistakes . Teams that run a tight formation regardless of what it is and do this every year , ( Giles and Riverheads ,) for exp. make little change in what they do . Fewer mistakes =more WsXcross, what type of athletes do they need to run the spread? I'm just curious about different points of view on the subject.
