After week four in the battlefield things look about the same. Chancellor found themselves after the loss against EV. KG took it on the chin against a very good Louisa team. Courtland won their first game and JM seems to be getting better and Caroline and Spotsy well are still Caroline and Spotsy!
#1 CHANCELLOR: The chargers made a big rebound from last weeks lost to EV. The many talented players showed their stuff with Jason Brown the best QB in the district by far had tremendous games and their defense played pretty well even though they pretty much man handled a very mediocre Liberty team. I will go out on a limb and say the chargers should run the table the rest of the way with only KG any chance to upset them with JM with a slight chance. but I have to remember its chancellor and they don't always play up to their expectations in years past. We shall see as they head into the district play and then on to the playoffs.
# 2 KG: The Foxes ran into a buzz saw at Louisa Friday but don't feel bad KG a lot of teams this year will run into that buzz saw this year! They didn't play that bad and I only hope is starting QB Deon Williams will be able to finish the season as he got hurt in the second half. He was having a good year and they will miss him if he cant return. KG has a good team with a excellent head coach and very good assistants. With games against Chancellor and JM threats to them the rest of the district should be no problem. Still I have Questions on how good is their defense. Only time will tell.
# 3 JM: I predicted early this year that JM would improve and was no way as bad as they lost to a powerful Dinwiddie team. Looks like now that it is coming true. No Petersburg was not the packers of the 60's but they was a lot better than last year. Watched it in TV and Petersburg has some good looking athletes mostly seniors and had a 2 and 0 record. Jackets have some good looking running backs both quick and some power backs. The sophomore QB is not very mobile but if you give him time he has a good arm and looks accurate. There is a lot of talent on JM but not as much as in the past but as I knew Serbay would coach them up and make them competitive. Keep your eye on JM by the time they play KG and Chancellor they may be trouble for both teams.
# 4 COURTLAND: First win for Courtland and I was kind of surprised in the inept Fauquier team. Thought they was a little better than Courtland right now but I guess they aren't. Take nothing away from JC and his cougars as they picked them self off the ground after three hard losses and beat the falcons. Courtland has holes in their defense and a offense that does not have a lot of talent especially at QB but this young team is a work in progress but JC is a excellent coach and will turn it around by next season. Too good of a program to be down for long!
# 5 CAROLINE: Really thought coach Yeates would get his first win against Thomas Jefferson a 0 and 3 team but I guess it wasn't meant to be. Now their losing streak is at 24 straight games and of now Spotsy or possibly King William are their only hope to break this terrible streak.Caroline has had every bad break in the last 12 years from transferring players coaching changes etc. Those kids down there deserve better and lets hope a bright future for them and Antron Yeates with a win soon. Good luck Caroline!
# 6 SPOTSY: H
