I wanted to ask around from people from different parts of the state, who are some of the best players you've seen so far this year from the class of 2019, 2020, and 2021?

Riverheads has a 7th grader coming that stands out ! 6'2" 220 and can move . Great hands and feet ! Right now he is a man among kids playing little league . Not sure of his name . He looks like he may have moved here from some NFL town . lol

When I saw that you had posted something on this thread, I was sure you would bring up the name of Zac Smiley, Riverheads' talented freshman running back. He has shown tremendous promise this year and the only reason he is not putting up major yards is because of the depth that RHS has in the backfield. Instead of relying on one or two running backs to get the big yards, as many schools do, Riverheads can sub at least five or six deep this year without missing a beat, and there may be even more that we won't see in action until some of the starters graduate. So we have only scratched the surface of Mr. Smiley's talents.

As for the youngster that you are talking about, I have seen him running around at the varsity games but since I don't attend Little League games, I have not seen him in action. But you are not the only one talking about him. I believe his name is John Wood, but don't quote me on that.

Essex has 2 that I can come up with right off the top. Junior RB/LB #24 K.J. Dameron is 6'2" 260lbs. I saw somewhere last year that he ran a 4.6 40 yard dash. Pretty fast for his size. This is his 3rd year on varsity. Also a junior, OT/DL #78 A.J. Crabbe 6'1" 408lbs. Last year he was around 440lbs but worked out during the off season to drops a few. This is his 2nd year on varsity. when I tell you he is fast for his size, TRUST ME!!! I see him making all District, Region and a good shot at all State 1st teams.

When I saw the Crabbe kid as a freshman I figured he would be just like the other big kid Essex had a couple years ago. Pretty much a non-factor. Boy, was I wrong. This kid is way, way better than I ever thought he would be. Did you see him run off the field when they put in a sub for him vs. TJ? Not sure what his classroom work is like, but he could land somewhere if he's up to par with his reading, writing and mathematics.

I was telling my cousin the same thing (if he takes care of school) at the game. I was hurt when he quit right before game 5 last year. But after the death of his brother (All-State DL on 2009 State Championship team) right before the season started, I can understand his mind and heart probably won't in it. He came back this year 30 plus pounds lighter and wearing his brother old jersey #78. I'm happy for him.

He sounds like he needs to tryout for FBU Team Virginia this weekend! Seriously!

Lets try to some more information on this mystery kid and see if we can put him on a national platform representing Virginia this winter!

I know little about him other than he can , has , and will throw the center in the air and mash the QB . Very large and focused young man . Just wonder what size he will be in a couple years ?

Somebody told me that the projection was that he would end up about 6'7" and 350, but how could anybody really know that this early in the game?

A player who has put up big numbers through the first 5 games, and will be a match up problem for any team is W&L stand out JR wide receiver J.J. McNeill. At about 6'2 175 lbs he has 39 receptions for 773 yards and 8 touchdowns. Definitely some next level potential.

Malik Langford and Amir Clark The Sussex Central Tigers ( One is A Freshman made the game winning pick against Essex) The other is a sophomore but started as a freshman !
