Game Recap Bethel Routs Gloucester in PenSouth Semi-final

Hampton and Bethel will meet for a 3rd time this season after both teams advanced to the PenSouth Conference 10 championship game with semi-final wins.

Bethel led by 24 points in the 4th quarter and they went on to defeat Gloucester 64-49 in the 1st semi-final at Menchville. Cam Bacote scored all his points from downtown finishing with 21 points on seven treys. Bacote made six 3-points in the 1st half when Bethel took a 37-13 lead. The margin reached 26 after the 3rd quarter and the Bruins emptied their bench.

Gloucester made a little run that forced the Bruin starters to re-enter the game late. Xavier Cooke and Demariyea Sills combined for 13 points in the 4th quarter and they both keyed an 11-0 run the sliced the deficit to 12 points with two minutes to go. The comeback stalled when the five senior starters re-entered and the Bruins ended Gloucester's season.

In addition to Bacote's 21 points, Providence commit Dajour Dickens added 14 points and 15 rebounds while football star Jeremiah Owusu kicked in 11 points, six rebounds and three assists.

In the second semi-final matchup, Hampton trailed Kecoughtan early but they pulled away in the second half for a 56-37 win.
