On Dec. 20, Buffalo Gap had a three-point lead over East Rockingham at halftime, despite having lost Marybeth Strickler to an ankle injury early in the game.

But a rough third quarter for the Bison allowed the Eagles to go in front 38-31 and hang on for the eventual 15-point win.

But Strickler is back now and Gap has had time to adjust to the season-ending injury to Hannah Varner earlier this year. The Bison will get a chance to even the score with East Rock on Friday night in Elkton.

Before then, though, Gap has home games with Stuarts Draft and Riverheads. That makes it a big week for the Bison, who are in third place in the Shenandoah District, a game behind East Rock in the standings. East Rock is 10-1 in district play, while Gap is 9-2. Both teams have lost to first-place Wilson Memorial this season.

East Rock has a road game with Stuarts Draft before the meeting with Gap, so the Cougars could obviously cause some shakeup in the standings with a couple of upsets this week.
