Yeah and he wasn’t the only one. The third string QB played the whole game and a lot of young guys got some playing time. Hugenot should have won this game. They missed some opportunities throwing an int in the end zone from the 8 yard line and some questionable play calling late in the fourth. They have some playmakers on offense. QB is mobile, speedy RBs, and WR Kevin Gayles is nice. Their defense was fast and aggressive and pretty much shut down Birds running game until the last drive. Bird got the ball back at about their 5 yard line with about 3 minutes left in the game. They went to the hurry up run game and drove down the field to setup the winning TD pass which I think was only their second completed pass of the night.

Huguenot and Midlothian will not be walk overs in the class 4 playoff race. Ultimately they are not contenders for a title but could maybe ruin a teams night. As for Bird, they have way too much speed and too many athletes to not be better offensively. Is there no one that can just throw a fly route to Jamon Battle? He is 6'5 with a 40 inch vertical? When Payoute is QB it is a whole different Bird but still.... I feel like there is more there. surprised they can't find more offense without Payoute there.

I was thinking the same thing. It's a tale of two teams, the one with Payoute and the one without. This is Bird however... this is one of the top programs in region and a team that has never been short on talent...

Jamon Battle was visiting UVA today! They have 2 power 5-level wide receivers. Not just possession receivers big physical speed burners. I don't get it!
