The Bishop O Connell-Paul the VI rivalry is one of the best matchups on the basketball court but it's a different story on the football field as the Knights easily defeated the Panthers 56-14. Quarterback Michael Galvan threw six touchdown passes and defensive back Aman Johnson returned an interception 100 yards for the final touchdown.

The Knights scored on their very first play from scrimmage on a 29-yard touchdown pass from Galvan to Brandon Magee. The play was setup by a great punt return from George Edwards. Ted Terwilliger made the score 14-0 with an 8-yard touchdown reception Magee added two more first half scores including a 50-yard touchdown reception to give Bishop O Connell a 28-7. Minutes later, Galvan needed only two plays to reach the endzone again finding sophomore R.J Tolson for a score.

Galvan finished 12 of 17 passing for 297 yards and six touchdowns and one interception. Galvan added 46 yards on designed runs. Bishop O Connell was stout of the defensive side pitching a shutout in the second half. Anthony Howard (4 solos, 4 assists), Kendall Byrd (8 solos 3 assists ), and Jerome Brooks (5 solos, 6 assists, 1 sack) led the defensive charge.
