Khalil Travis hit a 3 for the Bulldogs with 2.5 secs remaining, but Martinsville couldnt get a foul in time before the final buzzer

The Dogs really battled but couldn't get anything inside against a bigger and very athletic Comets squad. Mavahi had some chances to get it back even or take the lead in the 4th but Halifax hit their ft's and played tough defense in the paint to deny the Dogs the comeback. Very intense game for early December.

MARTINSVILLE -- Kendell Dixon scored 15 points and Tyree Dunkey scored nine of his 11 points in the fourth quarter, including four free throws in the final minute, to give the Blue Comets the narrow win over the host Bulldogs.

Michael Spraggins added 10 points for Halifax County.

Khalil Travis led Martinsville with a game-high 20 points, and Nigal Davis chimed in with 16.
